- The Army Contracting Command-Aberdeen Proving Ground, Natick Division intends to issue a Firm Fixed Price Indefinite Delivery/Indefinite Quantity contract under the authority of FAR 6.302-1, Only One Responsible Source and no Other Supplies or Services will Satisfy Government requirements, for the ability to purchase all models of Cepheid manufactured diagnostic systems, all diagnostic assays for use on Cepheid manufactured systems, and extended warranties for existing Cepheid diagnostic systems currently in use by the DoD. Cepheid is the only company that manufactures diagnostic assays for use across their diagnostic system portfolio and does not allow for third party assays to be used on Cepheid manufactured systems.� Additionally, Cepheid is the only company who has qualified repair technicians and methods for maintenance available under extended warranties.� Cepheid does not allow third-party service technicians to repair or provide maintenance on their manufactured instruments.� Finally, the DoD has quantities of Cepheid assays to be delivered to locations as part of the COVID-19 and annual Influenza diagnostic efforts.� Those assays can only be used on Cepheid diagnostic systems. A Firm Fixed Price contract will be issued. This is not a request for quotes. No solicitation package is available. Any responses to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer.� North American Industry Classification System (NAICS) code is 334516 � Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing.
