- Description
- NASA/GSFC plans to issue a Request for Proposal (RFP) for the Geostationary and Extended Orbits (GEO-XO) Program. This new procurement is for a definition-phase study of a geostationary Imager instrument. The Imager will be an infra-red (IR) and visible (VIS) imaging instrument that is planned to fly on the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) GEO-XO program series of geostationary satellites with the first launch planned for 2031. The Government does not intend to acquire a commercial item using FAR Part 12.��� The NAICS Code and Size Standard are 541330 and $15 million, respectively. The Government anticipates a release of the Final RFP in November 2020. No Draft RFP will be issued. The Government anticipates issuing a modification to this synopsis when the Final RFP become available. It is anticipated that this procurement will be a full and open competition. The Government anticipates awarding up to three firm fixed price contracts; of 1-year duration and approximately $6M each for this definition-phase study. Any proposed technology development or risk mitigation efforts would be included in this fixed price. This synopsis shall serve as the pre-solicitation for the Final RFP. When the Final RFP is issued, all responsible sources may submit an offer which shall be considered by the agency. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable.� The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html If a solicitation is released, then it and any additional documents will be available on www.beta.sam.gov. Prospective offerors shall notify this office of their intent to submit an offer. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any).� Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments (if any).� All contractual and technical questions must be submitted electronically via email to tiffanie.c.ferrell@nasa.gov no later than 15 days from posting date.� Telephone questions will not be accepted.
