- National Institute of Standards and Technology (NIST) is issuing this source sought notice is a means of conducting market research, pursuant to FAR Part 10 Market Research, to identify potential parties capable of performing services to collect and recycle scrap metal from the NIST Boulder, CO campus. This is not a Request for Proposals (RFP), Quotation, or Bid and does not commit the Government to award a contract now or in the future. The Government is not obligated to and will not pay for any information or comments received from potential sources because of this Sources Sought.� No solicitation is available now.� The purpose of this Sources Sought is to identify organizations with the requisite qualifications to meet the requirements of the services identified herein as a part of this Sources Sought.� After results of this market research are obtained, analyzed and compared with NIST's minimum requirement(s), NIST may conduct a competitive procurement and subsequently award a contract. The purpose of this sources sought is to identify organizations with the capabilities to provide the services as outlined in the attached Performance of Work Statement (PWS). Submission of any information in response to this market survey is purely voluntary; the government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred. Interested organizations that believe they can meet the requirement(s) should submit electronic copies of their capability statement.� Limit responses to five (5) pages or less.� Responses should include the following information: 1. Contact information: Company, Address, Point of Contact, Phone Number, Email Address. 2. Type of business (Small, VOSB, etc.) with a brief summary of the company. 3. Evidence that the interested party is fully capable of providing the required services and supplies for recycling 100% of the scrap metal produced at NIST Boulder campus, and as such may contain any information that the interested party feels is relevant (e.g., past performance). 4. Any other relevant information that is not listed above which the Government should consider in developing our specifications and finalizing our market research. Any proprietary information should be clearly identified.� The written capability statement should be received by Denise Steel, Contract Specialist, at denise.steel @nist.gov. Only electronic statements will be accepted.� Faxes will not be accepted.� Contractors may take the opportunity to make comments, including recommendations, regarding the Draft Performance Work Statement for the potential project.� These comments may be considered in the development of the Performance Work Statement.� This is not a formal Request for Information and the Government is not obligated to provide a response to any questions or comments regarding this project as a part of this Sources Sought. NOTE: All vendors need to be registered in SAM for contract award. www.sam.gov
