Description
This RFI and sources sought synopsis is for planning purposes ONLY. The government assumes no financial responsibility for any costs incurred associated with the preparation of responses submitted as a result of this notice. The result of this market research will contribute to determining the method of procurement, such as small business set-aside, large business, unrestricted, etc. The U.S. Department of Transportation (DOT)/Maritime Administration (MARAD), Office of Acquisition, is issuing this synopsis as a means of conducting market research to identify parties that have an interest in, and the resources, capabilities and expertise to supply textbooks as well as other resources and solutions of higher learning that will meet the academic needs of the students of the United States Merchant Marine Academy (USMMA) Kings Point, NY. Interested parties� capability statements must demonstrate access and means to deliver the following (please also include typical delivery timeframes): 1. Books 2. E-Books 3. Subscriptions 4. Audio/Video 5. Software 6. Buy-back program 7. Rent 8. Sell 9. Combination of e-book and paperback/hardback 10. Other incidentals necessary for the textbook to be a complete purchase 11. Nautical Charts 12. International publications 13. Nautical and Marine Engineering technical publications �SUBMISSION INFORMATION Please provide a written response consisting of no more than 10 single-sided pages, using single-spaced lines, and a 12-point font. �In addition to the aforementioned capability statement, please provide general descriptions of the following in your response: 1. Experience in supplying textbooks as well as other resources and solutions of higher learning in the past 5 years.� Please include the names of institutions served. 2. Describe your approach of how you supply textbooks as well as other resources and solutions of higher learning to customers. 3. Foreseeable obstacles and potential risks in supplying textbooks as well as other resources and solutions as required by the SOO and book list attached. 5. Security considerations in delivery and distribution of textbooks as well as other resources and solutions of higher learning. 6.
