Description

The National Park Services (NPS) is soliciting for applications to provide guided hiking and astronomy tours through the issuance of Commercial Use Authorizations (CUAs) within the Summit District of Haleakala. The NPS will issue up to ten CUAs following a competitive selection process based on resource protection, ability to operate safely, and the ability to interact effectively with NPS staff. These CUAs will be authorized for a 2-year period, beginning January 1, 2021 through December 31, 2022. The NPS issued this solicitation beginning October 15, 2020. The CUA application package is attached to this solicitation announcement or can be requested by calling or emailing Lahela Park, Acting CUA Program Manager, at (808) 572-4440 or HALE_Commercial_Manager@nps.gov. Completed applications for a CUA to provide visitor services within Haleakala National Park must be received no later than 4:00pm Hawaii Time on November 15, 2020, to be eligible for the CUA selection. Application submissions will be accepted by email to: HALE_Commercial_Manager@nps.gov or by U.S mail addressed to: Lahela Park, Acting CUA Program Manager, Commercial Services Division, Haleakala National Park, P.O Box 369 Makawao, HI 96768.
