- The USAF Academy Band performs several public concerts in Colorado Springs each year in support of the Air Force Academy's community relations mission, as a result�our outreach mission is to the create�of a 60-minute video for local and international distribution to 40 million people in 170 countries (ready for distribution NLT December 7th, 2020). Requirements: To create a professional quality prerecorded holiday music video of the USAF Academy Band, a performance venue equipped with an on-site dedicated audio recording studio in a separate room from the stage, a complete professional-grade video production team to include equipment, personnel, shooting, directing, and editing, and lighting capabilities is required. Although we are not performing for a live audience, audio engineering experts have determined we need a venue seating size of at least 700 seats to ensure hall size is large enough to generate natural acoustic reverberation for our audio/video recording product. Due to COVID safety guidelines, we will require a stage size of no less than 75 feet wide and 35 feet deep. The critical performance and service requirements will best be met in the commercial market sector and include the following: REQUIRED DATES / TIMES: � � �� 20-22 November 2020, 0800-1800 each day. REQUIREMENTS AT VENUE: � � �� Venue must be located in Colorado Springs, Colorado. � �� Venue must have onsite recording studio with dedicated room separate from concert hall. � �� Venue must have a proscenium stage theater that is equipped with a hydraulic apron. � �� Venue must have a large seating area of at least 700 seats in order to create necessary live sound reverberation for audio production requirements. � �� Venue must have Front of House Variable Acoustics with adjustable dynamic acoustics in order to accommodate a variety of musical styles and volume levels. � �� Venue must be equipped with advanced lighting technology including smart instruments and an integrated digital system. � �� Venue must be outfitted with an automated fly system for scenery and lighting. � �� Venue must have a Dante Digital Audio Network System. � �� Venue must have a 9� grand piano with piano bench available for use. Piano must be tuned by professional tuner prior to tech rehearsal time and video shooting. � �� Venue must have WIFI available throughout building. � �� Venue must provide three crew members to assist in the USAF Academy Band�s production and be available the duration of needed dates and times as listed above.� � � � �� Of these three members, one must be a skilled audio engineer and have professional working knowledge of the audio capabilities of the venue.� � � � �� One must be a skilled lighting technician and have professional working knowledge of the lighting system of the venue.� � � � �� One must be a skilled stage hand and have professional working knowledge of the features of the stage and venue. REQUIREMENTS OF LOADING: � �� Venue must have a loading dock area large enough to accommodate a 53ft (~16m) semi-truck. � �� Venue�s distance from main loading dock to stage must be no further than 35ft. � �� Venue�s main loading dock must be an electric garage door no less than 8�0� wide X 12�0� high in size. � �� Venue�s loading dock must come with a dock plate suitable for large box trucks and semis. REQUIREMENTS OF PRODUCTION OFFICE / DRESSING ROOMS: � �� Venue must have a separate Production Office. � �� Venue must have at least two dressing rooms that can accommodate up to nineteen people per room. Dressing rooms must have private bathrooms with makeup mirrors, lights, and costume racks. Rooms must contain TV with video and audio feed with independent volume control. REQUIREMENTS OF LADDERS AND LIFTS: � �� Venue must have a drivable Genie Lift, with a 30� lift. � �� Venue must have multiple ladders of various types and heights. REQUIREMENTS OF STAGE DIMENSION: � �� Venue must have a Proscenium Opening (Shell Configuration) of 54�-0� W x 25�-8� H. � �� Venue must have a Proscenium Opening (Theater Configuration) of 54�-0� W X 25�-0� H. � �� Venue must have a Stage Depth: Plaster to back Wall of 38�-0�. � �� Venue must have a Plaster to Apron = 6�-0�. � �� Venue must have an Apron depth of 11�-6�. � �� Venue must have a Stage Width SL-SR = 80�-0�. � �� Venue must have a System Pipe Width = 62�-0�. � �� Venue must have a Height from Stage to Grid = 46�-0�. � �� Venue must have a Hydraulic lift apron which can play at stage level (0�-0�) or audience level (-3�-0�). REQUIREMENTS OF CHAIRS / MUSIC STANDS / CHAIRS / RISERS: � �� Venue must have at least (40) Wenger �Symphony� Orchestra Chairs or equivalent. � �� Venue must have at least (40) Manhasset Black music stands or equivalent. � �� Venue must have at least (40) Music stand lights, and a Wenger Conductor�s Music Stand or equivalent. � �� Venue must have a Podium and Sound Shields. � �� Venue must have at choral and seating risers available. REQUIREMENTS FOR FLY SYSTEM: � �� Venue must have a 3/4 height Fly House with a Full Lineset Travel Distance: 2�4� � 43�6�. � �� Venue must have at least 19 Linesets. REQUIREMENTS OF SOFT GOODS: � �� Venue must have a Main Drape 46�-3� H x 62�-0� W. � �� Venue must have a Torm Masking (Black) 32�-6� H x 6�-0� W. � �� Venue must have Blackout Traveler Panels (Black) 28�-6� H x 31�-0� W. � �� Venue must have a Sharkstooth Scrim (Black) 29�-6� H x 62�-0� W. REQUIREMENTS OF CONCERT / ACOUSTIC SHELL: � �� Venue must have a Wenger �Diva� Acoustic Shell with 8 wall towers and 2 flown ceiling clouds or equivalent. REQUIREMENTS OF LIGHTING SYSTEM: � �� Venue must have power for lighting system. � �� Venue must have Sensor 3 - 48 Module Dimmer Racks � 288, 2400w Circuits. � �� Venue�s Dimmer Racks must have 48 Dual 20A configurable ThruPower Modules for dimmable or constant true A/C power to any circuit. � �� Venue must have Company Switches available for additional power tie-in: � � � � 400A 3-phase for Theatrical Lighting, 100A 3-phase for AV, 100A 3-phase for Theatrical Rigging. REQUIREMENTS OF LIGHTING CONSOLE: � �� Venue must have an ETC ION 6000 with 6144 Outputs/Parameters or equivalent.� � �� Venue must have a Black Universal 2x10 Fader Wing or equivalent.� � �� Venue must have 23� LCD Touch Screen Monitors. Mastering will be done in Sony XDCam format which will allow locked audio playback of completed sound track. Formatting for required broadcast and streaming destinations will be included. � � � � �� Provide transfer to client HDDs of all raw and finished media.� � � � � Expected timeline / delivery schedule:� � � � � �� Post production will begin Monday, November 30, and continue day-to-day until completed, expecting that total project completion and readiness for transfer to distribution media will be finished NLT Monday, December 7, 2020. �
