Description
Amendment 1: The purpose of this amendment is to respond to submitted questions and incorporate a revised Wage Determination. Question 1: Could you please tell me if this is a new requirement, or if there is a current or previous contractor who has performed similar services? If available, can you please send along the incumbent contract or task order number? Answer 1: This is a new requirement. Question 2: On Sheet 5, Architectural Floor Plan, Note #7 states, PROVIDE NEW SUSPENDED ACOUSTICAL CEILING AND SUSPENSION SYSTEM IN ACCORDANCE WITH FINISH SCHEDULE. However, on Page 8 the ROOM FINISH SCHEDULE offers no clarification, it merely states SAT. On the General Notes page SAT means Supply Air Temperature In the 09 51 00 specification section, Acoustical Ceilings, in the Part 2 Products section the designer only gives performance specifications, there is no manufacturer specified as a standard or equal as we usually see There are some CEILING NOTES on the bottom of page 2, but again these are performance specs and not product preferences Please provide more information on what type of product will be acceptable. Answer 2: The use of SAT on sheet 8 refers to Suspended Acoustical Tile. Use of performance specifications increases a companys option(s) for product selection. Products from manufacturers meeting the performance specifications are acceptable. Question 3: Provide the following information: Existing Fire Alarm panel Manufacture and type Fire Alarm Maintenance and Service Contractor of record Panel LVP-2 Type and manufacture Panel MDP Type and manufacture Answer 3: The existing fire alarm panel was produced by Notifier. There is a tag on the fire alarm panel indicating service was performed by Access Logic. They have an office in Mystic, CT. Panel LVP-2 was produced by Siemens. It is a type S1 panel, model number S1C42ML125CTS. The enclosure is a NEMA type 1. Panel MDP was produced by Siemens. It is a type S3 panel, model number S3E42FX225FTS. The enclosure is a NEMA type 1. Question 4: Sheet 18-052A Notes 8 and 9 are conflicting in Rooms 206 and 205. Note 8 indicates both eyewash station light and tel/data outlet, please clarify. Answer 4: This question pertains to an error on drawing 18-052A, sheet 20. Work note 8 calls for a local audible signal device, silencing switch, and flashing strobe for the emergency eyewash station. This is intended to be installed in only one location, at the eyewash station. Other locations that call out work note 8 are intended to be work note 9, which calls for a double gang electrical box at 18 inches above finished floor and EMT conduit to 6 above ceiling. Question 5: What is the wiring method for the fire alarm, drawings note indicate Galvanized Rigid Steel Conduit for Fire Alarm? Answer 5: The fire alarm system is addressable. The conduit can be EMT. Question 6: Do you have pictures of the storage space where ceiling deck needs to be painted? Answer 6: We do not have pictures of the storage space. Question 7: Note #4 on Sheet 5 states, PAINT WALLS, DOORS, DOOR FRAMES AND EXPOSED CEILING AS INDICATED. REFER TO FINISH SCHEDULE, SHEET 8, virtually all the rooms have Note 4 indicated. In reviewing the Finish Schedule on Sheet 8, at NOTES, the ONLY ceiling to be painted is Storage 200. However, the schedule says height VARIES. From looking at the wall types on Sheet 8 there is no indication what this height variance is. Please clarify the Storage 200 ceiling height(s) for bidding/access purposes from the second floor to the roof deck. Additionally, Storage 200 is dimensioned to be 42 from Room 202 to the Mezzanine railing. Please confirm that the building space OPEN TO BELOW beyond the Mezzanine railing is to have its ceiling painted also. What is the height from the 1st floor of OPEN TO BELOW to the deck? Answer 7: The height between the second floor and the roof deck is 13-0 at the peak and 11-4 at the wall separating room 200 from room 202. The height from the first floor to the roof deck is 23-0. Question 8: Provide more detail IRT how the existing 6W x 3H windows are currently installed to aid in our bid prep for their demolition. Is there existing exterior and interior casing? An exterior wall section would be beneficial to explain the interface between the new windows and the buildings existing siding material. Perhaps photos of the building exterior? Answer 8: The existing windows were manufactured by Mi Windows and Doors, LLC. Their current equivalent is the 188 Aluminum Single-Slider Window. More information is available at: https://miwindows.com/products/product-info/188-sliding-window Question 9: On drawing sheet 13, Detail E1 North Elevation, a new downspout is scheduled to be installed. Please provide the profile of the existing gutter, size of the existing gutter and the material the existing gutter is made of. Answer 9: The existing gutter is a box profile. Question 10: Also, there is a 72 KICK OUT shown at the bottom of the new downspout apparently to travel across the existing grade. Is there a requirement for some type of bedding material for the Kick Out to lay on, or be support by some type of cradle? Answer 10: The drawing calls for a 72-degree kick out not a 72-inch kick out. Upon further research it appears 75 degrees is the standard bend on downspouts. Either a 72-degree or 75-degree kick out will be acceptable on this project. This downspout spills onto an asphalt driveway. No additional bedding material is necessary. Question 11: Please confirm that email submission of proposals is acceptable, and please provide the email addresses for the required recipients. Answer 11: Please refer to Page 49 of the RFP, Instructions for Submission of Proposals, Section 1.0, General Information. Proposals shall be submitted to Ashley.zannikos@navy.mil and leslie.brazil@navy.mil. Solicitation N66604-20-R-8249:This construction requirement is for the renovation of the second floor in a building located atNUWC Division Newport. Project shall be completed in accordance with RFP Attachment #1, Drawing 18-052A (23 pages) and Attachment #2, Specification titled Second Floor Renovation Building 1171A dated 03/19/2019 (486 pages). The work includes the removal of existing and provision of flooring, suspended acoustical ceiling, light fixtures, exterior windows, HVAC system, and incidental related work. Work will primarily take place on the second floor of a two story, 10,000 sf, metal building. Existing window sealant contains Polychlorinated Biphenyls (PCBs). The onsite supervision will require two (2) qualified individuals serving the roles of superintendent, quality control manager, and site safety and health officer. Contractors do not have tobe JCP certified to receive the drawings and specifications but they must have an active CAGE Code. If you are unable to request the drawings and specification in beta.sam, please send e-mail to Ashley.Zannikos@navy.mil and leslie.brazil@navy.mil and include company name, complete address and CAGE code.
