Description
This announcement constitutes a Sources Sought Synopsis (market survey). This announcement is for information and planning purposes only and is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, implied or otherwise, to issue a solicitation or award a contract. The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District is seeking small business sources for a supply requirement entitled: �LGA/LMA Floating Guidewall Cable & Chain�.� This is scheduled to be issued as a Firm Fixed Price Supply Contract. INTRODUCTION The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Walla Walla District, is seeking business sources for an upcoming requirement entitled:� �LGA/LMA Floating Guidewall Cable & Chain�.� The purpose of this request is to determine interest and capability of potential qualified businesses relative to the North American Industry Classification code (NAICS) 332618. The Small Business Size Standard for this NAICS code is 500 employees.� The intent of this requirement is to procure cables, chain, and hardware, to be used on the floating guidewalls, at both Lower Monumental and Little Goose Dams, Washington State. This is not a solicitation. This sources-sought announcement is a tool to identify businesses with the capability to accomplish the work. Firms who respond to this announcement by submitting the following information will be used in determining whether to set aside this requirement. Please do not respond to this notice unless you will be responding to the solicitation. Award estimated to be December 2020. Delivery to both Little Goose and Lower Monumental Projects, required to be no later than 25 February 2021. SCOPE OF WORK SUMMARY: Work shall include but is not limited to the manufacturing of cables, chains, and necessary hardware. The cables are to be made of bridge strand ASTM A586 Class �A� coated construction. The cable assemblies are to include sockets, pins, and HDPE sleeve. See below for lengths and diameters required. Qty 1 - 66-1/2' Long, 2"" Diameter Qty 1 - 227' Long, 2"" Diameter Qty 1 - 332' Long, 2"" Diameter Qty 1 - 676' Long, 2-1/4"" Diameter Qty 1 - 669' Long, 2-1/2"" Diameter The chains are to be made of 2-1/4� stud link grade 3 chain with a minimum breaking strength of 285 tons. The chains are to include end links and shackles. See below for lengths and quantities required.�� Qty�2 - 30' Long Qty 1 - 45' Long Qty 1 - 175' Long Qty 1 - 336' Long Also to be included, are two complete bumper assemblies constructed of a steel frame, straight link galvanized chains, EDPM rubber bumpers, and eye bolts. In addition, numerous connector plates, high-strength anchor rods, clevises, bushings, beveled washers, sheer bolts, and links are to be fabricated and provided. All metal used for fabrication shall be in accordance with ASTM A36/A36M, A500/A500M, A722/A722M, or A668/A668M as specified. Contractor shall submit shop drawings for all fabricated plates, angles and weldments. All metal fabrications shall be galvanized, or zinc coated as specified. SUBMISSION REQUIREMENTS FOR RESPONSES Your intent to submit a quote for this project when it is formally advertised. Name of firm with address, phone and point of contact. Statement of Capability (SOC) stating your skills, experience, knowledge, and equipment required to perform the specified type of work. A statement of your firm's business size and type (HUBZone, Service-Disabled Veteran Owned, 8(a), Small Business). Responses are due back NLT 18-Oct-2020, 10:00AM PST. If inadequate responses are received, this solicitation may be issued for full and open competition.� No basis for claim against the Government shall arise as a result of a response to this sources sought, or Government use of any information provided. The Government will not pay for information or comments provided and will not recognize any costs associated with submission of comments.
