Description

This is a Notice of Intent, not a request for proposal.� The National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) of the National Institutes of Health (NIH) intends to negotiate on other than full and open competition basis with Getinge USA, Inc. Rochester, NY 14692 for upgrade on PAC3500-Autoclave Control System. The NIAID Integrated Research Facility is to study emerging infectious diseases and use hospital tools, such as medical imaging to systematically evaluate the pathogenic process and clinical course of disease in animal models exposed to microbes. This research is conducted in a high containment, biosafety level 4 laboratory. All infectious waste and animal cages must be decontaminated by sterilization using autoclaves. The autoclaves also serve a dual purpose that includes passing equipment and supplies into the high containment laboratory. The autoclaves at the IRF are a critical component to the overall operation of the facility. The control upgrade will ensure safe and efficient operation of these units. Non-OEM parts are not allowed on this equipment.
