- Description
- The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a contract for the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Texas, Freeport Harbor to Upper Matagorda Bay in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties, Texas, Pipeline Dredging. Project Information: The work consists of � Gulf Intracoastal Waterway, Texas, Freeport Harbor to Upper Matagorda Bay in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties, Texas, Pipeline Dredging.� The work consists of pipeline dredging Freeport to Upper Matagorda Bay, Texas including the San Bernard and Colorado River channels. Project is for shallow-draft pipeline dredging of the Gulf Intracoastal Waterway (GIWW) in Brazoria and Matagorda Counties with two Options for additional dredging of the GIWW San Bernard River channel and the GIWW Colorado River Channel.�� Contractor should expect and be able to perform dredging operations in strong currents / riverine flows in and around the Brazos River, the Colorado River, San Bernard River and vicinity of GIWW / Caney Creek intersections.� In addition to being able to dredge in locations with strong currents / riverine flows contractor must have dredge plant capable of efficient removal of shoals in areas of rapid / high sediment deposition.�� Sediment composition is primarily silty but contractor should expect to encounter hard-packed sand in vicinity of Caney Creek and Colorado River Crossing. Schedule 1: dredging of approximately fourteen (14) sections within the GIWW and GIWW Channel to Palacios. Estimated quantity: 1,140,000 CY.� Placement Areas include: upland confined, open water, surf zone and river discharge. Completion time, 230 calendar days.� Option 1: dredging of four (4) sections within the GIWW San Bernard River Channel between Sta. 2+600 and Sta. 84+600.� Estimated quantity: 30,000 CY.� Placement:� river placement.� If awarded, an additional 23 calendar days will be added to the contract completion time.� Option 2: dredging of four (4) sections within the GIWW Colorado River Channel between Sta. 13+884 and Sta. 83+229.� Estimated quantity: 36,000 CY.� Placement:� river placement.� If awarded, an additional 17 calendar days will be added to the contract completion time. If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,128.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (5) calendar days after award.� The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after receipt of the notice to Proceed.� The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price.� The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000.00 and $10,000,000.00. The solicitation is advertised as �UNRESTRICTED� full & open competition to both large and small businesses. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990.� The Small Business Size Standard is $30 Million (Dredging). The solicitation will be issued on or about 22 October 2020.� Response date will be 23 November 2020.� �(All bids must be submitted electronically per Section 00 21 00 of the solicitation).� The estimated award date for this project is on or about 16 December 2020.
