- Description
- The Federal Aviation Administration (FAA), through the Administration Division (AGC-10), has a requirement for experienced legal document reviewers and paralegal support services under the category of paralegal/legal assistants with paralegal certification from accredited institutions. The immediate availability for a review of legal documents is necessary for congressional inquiries to meet FAA court-imposed deadlines. The contractor must have experienced personnel related to class action, multi-plaintiff or complex litigation cases, including Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) requests. Support activities for this requirement are expected to include, without limitation, the following: Reviewing a large volume of legal documents and in identifying cases using an eDiscovery system;� Performing document reviews to support legal opinions on agency position papers and data warehousing for future use; performing substantive legal analysis of requests for information under the provisions of various acts; Analyzing the legal impact on data collection requirements provided by agency POC; Conducting research for the preparation of legal opinions on matters of interest; Analyzing the legal impact of legislative developments, administrative and judicial decisions, opinions, determinations, and rulings; Performing legal support functions which require discretion and independent judgment in the application of specialized knowledge of laws, precedent decisions, regulations, agency policies, and judicial or administrative proceedings; Analyzing and evaluating case files against litigation worthiness standards; Noting and correcting case file deficiencies (e.g., missing documents, inconsistent material, leads not investigated) before sending the case on to the concerned trial attorney; Reviewing and analyzing available precedents relevant to cases under consideration for use in presenting case summaries to trial; Gathering, sorting, classifying and interpreting data to discover patterns of possible discriminatory activity; Reviewing and analyzing relevant statistics; Ability to work under tight time constraints; Supporting counsel in efforts to determine the need for additional information, independent surveys, evidence, and witnesses, and planning comprehensive approaches to obtain this information; Preparing charts, graphs, and tables as demonstratives; Maintaining custody of exhibits, documents, and files.
