Description
The Department of Veterans Affairs, VA Iliana Healthcare System VISN 12,1900 East Main Street Danville Illinois 61832, in accordance with FAR 13.106-1 (b) (only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements) entered into a sole source basis with the City of Danville for Fire Protection Services. NAICS 922160 applies. The justification is attached to this posting. Contractor shall provide fire response, fire suppression, and emergency services to include confined space entry rescue, decontamination capabilities and hazardous material spill response to Iliana Health Care System and Danville National Cemetery located at 1900 East Main Street, Danville, Illinois. Contractor is required to respond to all fire alarms and emergency calls on a 24 hour, 7 days a week, 365 days per year basis for the period of October 1,2020 through September 30,2021 to include an additional Four (4) One (1) Year options to be exercised at the discretion of the government. Contractor must have a station located within 3.5 miles and the physical capability to respond with adequate number of firefighting personnel and type of apparatus to a fire alarm and/or fire emergency call at any location on the grounds of the Iliana Health Care System and Danville National Cemetery within a maximum of eight (8) minutes. The response time will be calculated as being from the moment of receipt of the alarm and/or emergency call until the first responding engine company arrives and comes to a full stop at the site of the fire suppression incident. The first alarm response shall have at minimum the following equipment and manpower: Two engine companies, to include an aerial or ladder truck, and a mobile command unit. Contractor shall have such equipment and manpower capable of response at all times as required. The base year amount is $123,266.88. The total amount if all options are exercised, is $681,127.68. For the purposes of the award of this Contract, the Government evaluated the option to extend services, provided under FAR 52.217-8, as follows: The evaluation considered the possibility that the option can be exercised at any time, and can be exercised in increments of one to six months, but for no more than a total of six months during the life of the contract. The evaluation will assume that the prices for any option exercised under FAR 52.217-8 will be at the same rates as those in effect under the contract.
