Description

Intent to Purchase GLOBUS TOOLKIT for USDA APHIS MRP, Riverdale. � USDA APHIS Procurement intends on awarding purchase contract to University of Chicago, IL for GLOBUS Tool Kit that will enable the means to improve large data file transfer capabilities within the constraint of existing internet bandwidth at MRP scientific and laboratory locations, MRP requires that the use of GridFTP capability be made available via subscription services. This file transfer protocol is the latest development of the Grid Open Forum consortium and is widely utilized with the same scientific and research collaborators presently working with MRP and includes many of our scientific and research partners. The Globus Toolkit is currently the only mature implementation of this technology available on the market to date. MRP has a need to obtain an agency-wide subscription to this service as a necessary part of achieving cost-savings in its execution of its scientific eBoard pilot solution implementation. Small business concerns are encouraged to participate. This notice of intent is NOT a request for competitive proposals, but instead a market research method to determine interested sources. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed action is based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose to determine whether conducting a competitive (i.e. non-brand name) procurement is in the best interest of the Government. Interested sources who submit any software of same name are responsible for appropriately marking information if it is proprietary in nature. Please provide past performance and references regarding your ability to provide this supply and service along with your Statement of Capability. The Government will not award a contract based on the information received, nor reimburse participants for information they provide. Information provided is strictly voluntary.
