- This action was awarded as an 8(a) Sole Source Set-Aside under the authority of section 8(a) of the Small Business Act. In accordance with these specifications the Contractor shall supply all plant, labor, materials, appurtenances, equipment, shop facilities, supervision, tools, staging, scaffolding and any other items necessary to complete the herein detailed improvements to flumes and supporting channels at the Abiquiu Dam.� The Contractor shall verify all existing conditions, sizes, and quantities prior to start of work. � The work will consist of replacing Parshall flumes, placing riprap, formwork, reinforced concrete placement, grading, and general earthwork.� Specific work items to be covered by this contract are listed below: � Remove and Replace Flume 1 Contractor shall remove Flume 1 and return to Abiquiu Dam project office. Contractor shall install new Flume 1 and supporting structures as shown in Attachment 1. Flume 1 will not have a riprap check structure upstream. Wingwalls shown in Attachment 1 will be modified to conform to existing conditions, but sizes will approximately be the same. Government Representative will specify exact alteration in the field. New flume shall be engineered composite fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and include transverse support brackets on top of flume walls Dimensions for flume are specified in Attachment 1. Contractor shall provide riprap and construct riprap check structures shown in Attachment 1 using 4-6 inch angle-faced stone, that is durable and non-friable (no sandstone).� Approximate riprap needed for Flume 1 is 3 tons. Contractor shall ensure that natural channel beds and alignment are not disturbed outside the work area. All new construction shall conform to existing grades at work area limits. � Remove and Replace Flume 2 Contractor shall remove Flume 2 and return to Abiquiu Dam project office. Contractor shall install new Flume 2 and supporting structures as shown in Attachment 1. New flume shall be engineered composite fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and include transverse support brackets on top of flume walls Dimensions for flume are specified in Attachment 1. All new construction shall conform to existing grades at work area limits. � Remove and Replace South Abutment Flume, Toe Drain Flume, and Concrete Line Channel Contractor shall remove and dispose existing flumes shown in Attachment 1. Contractor shall install new flumes and supporting structures as shown in Attachment 1. New flume shall be engineered composite fiberglass reinforced plastic (FRP) and include transverse support brackets on top of flume walls Dimensions for flume are specified in Attachment 1. Contractor shall line channel with reinforced concrete as shown in Attachment 1. Elevations and slopes for channel reconfiguration are specified in Attachment 1. �� The intent of this contract is to improve the quality of the flow readings measured by the flumes at Abiquiu Dam. The existing flumes are in need of repairs and improvements that are beyond the technical expertise of the Lake Office�s maintenance personnel. This contract will ensure the continued health and safety of the Lake Office personnel and the visiting public.� All work is to be done according to industry standard practice, within all Federal and State regulations pertaining to the provision and distribution of safe drinking water and using materials appropriate to the type of work.
