Description
Page 6 of 6 Amendment 1 RFQ 36C25920Q0789 Questions/Answers and Quote DUE DATE IS EXTENDED 9/23/2020 Are separate Temperature and Humidity sensors acceptable? Prefer 1 sensor that does both temp and humidity Is more than one Temperature sensor probe required per refrigerator/freezer? 1 temperature sensor probe required per refrigerator/freezer Page 2 of SOW, Contractor must provide 900 MHz wireless transmitters for each site to allow for communication from the sensors to the server . Our sensors are 900 MHz between Sensor and Gateway, Gateway to server we offer Secure Ethernet or Cellular communication to the server. Is this acceptable? The VA will have to use ethernet connections as cellular usually isn t a viable option in government settings. Page 2 of SOW, Sensor calibration must be able to be performed onsite . Sensors will initially all have NIST traceable certificates. On recalibration we calibrate on site with NIST traceable calibrated device and store a single certificate or If a certificate is required for each sensor is sensor replacement acceptable? Which method is acceptable. The way it is currently done with the VA s existing system is every 15 months, the lab sensors to include temp/humidity have to be recalibrated. The sensors have removable probes that are swapped out with recalibrated ones sent from the company and the old probes are sent back to the company. They provide the new certs in electronic form and they are given to the department heads for their records. This process takes approx. 4 to 5 months with all the mailing back and forth. The VA is interested in a process where the VA could either recalibrate itself or have the selected vendor do it. Page 2 of SOW, Applicable virtual server database licenses must be provided . How many users will the system have? The VA currently has approximately 95 users ranging from a few administrators to group administrators, and the most being users. The VA adds and removes users on a regular basis. By licenses, all the users that have software installed on their computers. The amount of people that can actually log into the server would be a select few. Can client software be web based? No web based software is allowed within the VA, that includes Cloud based apps and software, unless on the OIT approved list which is so far only Microsoft apps right now. Are the refrigerators to be monitored at each location in the same or separate rooms? The refrigerators are in different rooms. A temp humidity sensor monitors the room the refrigerator is in. Are the temp/humidity sensor placements at each location in the same or separate rooms? The layout of each facility is different. A temp/humidity sensor is needed in each room the has a refrigerator. What are the general overall dimensions of each building? This information will be provided as soon as possible. In the Combined Synopsis/Solicitation section '(v) List of Line Items:', items 10080-DT-032 AND 10071-032 are listed as 'Transmitter'. But in the SOW they are listed as 'Sensors'. The SOW also says, ""Contractor must provide 900 MHz wireless transmitters for each site to allow for communication from the sensors to the server. The transmitters must be compatible with VA installed Cisco 9300 switches"". Can we add a line in our bid responses in the List of Line Items to show price and quantity of 900MHz Transmitters that send data from 'Sensor' to the server? Require sensors that communicate to the gateway and the gateway is connected to the network by Cisco 9300 switches that in turn communicate back to the server. The sensor , which is the transmitter and receiver that senses the temp and humidity, needs to communicate via WiFi gateway.  The Wifi will be hardwired to the switch, then the switch will be hardwired to the server where we can access data related to the Tx/Rx sensor. QUOTE DUE DATE IS EXTENDED TO 5:00pm (MT) on Friday, September 25, 2020.
