- Description
- Amendment 0001: Amend Closing Date to 2 October 2020. This is a Request for Information (RFI) only by the Naval Surface Warfare Center, Dahlgren Division (NSWCDD). NSWCDD is seeking identification solutions involving radio-frequency, magnetic fields, or other technology to tag and read specific ammunition rounds within a gun weapon system. Solutions must distinguish each unique round while being in compliance with Hazards of Electromagnetic Radiation to Orndnance (HERO) to avoid damaging ammunitions electrically initiated devices (EIDs) and electronics. Solutions are sought that provide identification and distinguish of multiple ammunition types. Solutions are to operate in conditions exposed to contaminants such as moisture, oil, and dirt. The Navy is interested in technologies that are capable of reaching a Technology Readiness Level (TRL) 6 prototype within 18-24 months from start of an application development effort.
