- This notice is in accordance with FAR Subpart 5.2, Synopses of Proposed Contract Actions. The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC), Procurement Division is the contracting office for this procurement. The purpose of this notice is to announce the intent to award a firm-fixed-price contract on a sole source basis to Portfolio Media, Inc., 1111 W 19th St Floor 5 New York, NY, 10011-4115 (DUNS: 611744199) in accordance with FAR Part 12 and FAR Subpart 13.501.� The Pension Benefit Guaranty Corporation (PBGC) protects the retirement incomes of over 35 million American workers in private-sector defined benefit pension plans. A defined benefit plan provides a specified monthly benefit at retirement, often based on a combination of salary and years of service. PBGC was created by the Employee Retirement Income Security Act of 1974 to encourage the continuation and maintenance of private-sector defined benefit pension plans, provide timely and uninterrupted payment of pension benefits, and keep pension insurance premiums at a minimum. In fiscal year 2019, PBGC paid for monthly retirement benefits, up to a guaranteed maximum, for more than 932,000 retirees in more than 4,900 single-employer plans that cannot pay promised benefits. Including those who have not yet retired and participants in multiemployer plans receiving financial assistance, PBGC is responsible for the current and future pensions of about 1.5 million people. PBGC�s has a requirement to obtain data from a legal news reporting platform. Portfolio Media�s product (web platform), Law 360, provides up-to-date litigation news on a range of topics required by PBGC, including but not limited to Bankruptcy, ERISA, Labor and Employment, Corporations, Mergers and Acquisitions, and Government Contracts. Law 360 allows for ready access to news on a particular company, which includes litigation, documents, and general activities. This platform includes real-time tracking and reports on 10,000+ companies, firms and industries. The data obtained from this platform is key to plans that are trusteed to PBGC due to bankruptcy, ERISA, Mergers and Acquisitions, etc. The information received from the real-time tracking and reporting is key to PBGC's mission. The data obtained from the Law 360 platform is required by various stakeholders in the agency for current awareness on different topics in the legal field. It is anticipated that an award will be issued on or before September 30, 2020, with a one (1) year period of performance. The period of performance from September 30, 2020 through September 29, 2021. The applicable NAICS Code is 519130 (Internet Publishing and Broadcasting and Web Search Portals).� This is NOT a request for competitive quotes. This notice of intent is for informational purposes only. However, all interested parties may submit their capability statements for the required services, which shall be considered by the agency if received by the Points of Contact (POC) listed below.
