- The Naval Air Systems Command (NAVAIR) awarded a modification to Delivery Order N0001919F2628 under Basic Ordering Agreement N00019-16-G-0012 with Bell Textron Inc. to add scope to the current Tail Rotor Drive Systems (TRDS) redesign effort.� Added scope includes redesign of the Intermediate Gear Box (IGB) input quill to incorporate a sliding spline and a redesign of the drive shafts.� This requirement is being pursued on a sole source basis in accordance with the statutory authority permitting other than full and open competition under Title 10 U.S.C. 2304 (c)(1), as implemented by FAR Part 6.302-1, �Only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy agency requirements.� Bell is the sole designer, developer and systems integrator of the H-1 series Helicopter. As such Bell is the only known responsible source with the knowledge, in-depth experience, technical data, tooling and test equipment required to perform this effort within the required schedule.
