Page 2 of 2 This Sources Sought Notice is not a formal request for proposals or quotes. No formal solicitation document exists at this time. The government will not reimburse participants for any expenses associated with their response to this notice. The Department of Veterans Affairs, Network Contracting Office (NCO) 6, Regional Procurement Office (RPO) East, is in the process of planning a requirement for Rental Surgical Gowns at the Durham Veteran Affairs Medical Center (VAMC), 508 Fulton St, Durham, NC 27705. This potential requirement may be for a base period of one year plus three (3) additional one-year option periods. The applicable NAICS Code is 812331, Linen Supply with a size standard of $35.0 million. Corresponding Product Service Code is S209. Services to be provided but not limited to: Durham VA Health Care System has immediate need for a service contract to include delivery and removal of AAMI Level 4 reusable surgical gowns (pursuant to American Society for Testing Materials/ASTM F1671 standards), in accordance with American National Standards Institute/Association for the Advance of Medical Instrumentation (ANSI/AAMI) PB70:2012 classification system. The vendor shall deliver sixty Large AAMI Level 4 sterile, individually wrapped gowns; ten Extra Large AAMI Level 4 sterile, individually wrapped gowns; and five XX Large Level 4 sterile, individually wrapped gowns daily (Monday through Friday). Delivered product shall have gone through all appropriate sterilization, packaging and storage processes, in accordance with AAMI, ASTM, and FDA regulations and guidelines, and shall be clearly labeled to indicate that sterilization process is complete. Vendor shall deliver the afore-described sterilized gowns to the Durham VAHCS on a daily basis, five days each week (Monday through Friday). Gowns will be delivered to Durham VA HCS Logistics Department, for internal distribution. Salient characteristics for each gown: Classified as AAMI Level 4 surgical gown, pursuant to American Society for Testing Materials (ASTM) F1671 standards and FDA requirements. FDA 501(k) Clearance Product, with evidence of premarket notification. AAMI PB70 Level 4 barrier protection. Demonstrated resistance to liquid penetration per AAMI Level 4 standards. Front panel coverage and critical zone per AAMI Level 4 standards. Sterile, tamper resistant packaging. Appropriate labeling. Includes unique identification (e.g., RFID) with tracking ability and documented use/sterilization, in accordance with limited use regulations, guidelines and parameters. Meets criteria for Class II Medical Device. Delivery/Pickup: Vendor is responsible for appropriate transport of sterile gowns to Durham VAHCS, and pickup of used gowns from facility. The VA is seeking written responses to assist with identifying potential sources that are interested in, and capable of, providing the services described. Please review the information contained herein and identify whether your company has the capability and interest to provide the services described. If you propose a different NAICS code, provide alternate. The Veterans First Contracting Program applies to VA contracts only. VA has a preference to award contracts to verified service-disabled Veteran-owned small businesses (SDVOSBs) first then to verified Veteran-owned small businesses (VOSBs) when market research indicates provides a reasonable expectation that the VA will receive two or more offers from eligible SDVOSB/VOSB firms at a fair and reasonable price, Public Law 109-461. To be eligible for a VA SDVOSB or VOSB set-aside, the firm must be verified in the VA s Office of Small Business Utilization s (OSDBU) Veteran Information Pages (VIP) database as an SDVOSB or VOSB at the time the firm submits its offer to the VA. Additional information on VA s Veterans First Contracting Program can be found on OSDBU s website at https://www.va.gov/osdbu/verification/ . In addition, the SDVOSB/VOSB must qualify as a small business under SBA s regulations. The Government reserves the right to contact any respondent and/or respondent reference to obtain additional information. Currently, no solicitation exists. Any resulting procurement action will be the subject of a separate, future announcement. The information is provided for market research purposes and any potential strategy for this acquisition may change prior to any solicitation release. The acquisition strategy, evaluation methodology, and any other acquisition decisions are to be determined.
