Description

This notice is being published in accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Part 5.101(a)(2) requiring the dissemination of information on proposed contract actions. This is a notice of intent to award a sole-source contract, and is not a request for competitive proposals. The statutory authority for this sole-source procurement is FAR 13.501(a)(2)(i), Only One Responsible Source and No Other Supplies or Services Will Satisfy Agency Requirements. The Army Contracting Command Aberdeen Proving Ground (ACC-APG), Tenant Contracting Division, 6565 Surveillance Loop, BLDG 6001, Aberdeen Proving Ground MD 21005, intends to award a sole source, firm fixed price contract to JL Shepherd & Associates (JLSA), 1010 Arroyo Ave, San Fernando, CA, 91340-1822, to provide the purchase, delivery and on-site reload of the radioactive sources for their JL Shepherd 81-14Q Gamma Calibrator in accordance with the attached�purchase description�for the United States Army Communications-Electronics Command (CECOM) Directorate for Safety. The purchase and reload of the required calibrator is required for the analysis and calibration of various instruments used within the Directorate for Safety. JLSA is the only manufacturer that provides a product that meets the reload capabilities required by CECOM-DS. Due to the proprietary nature of the existing calibration system and the required radiation sources, no other manufacturer can meet the Government�s need without unacceptable delays in fulfilling the requirement and/or substantial replacement costs. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive quotes. Interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement. A determination not to compete this requirement, based upon responses to this notice, is solely within the discretion of the Government.
