Description
The Naval Air Warfare Center Aircraft Division Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) intends to negotiate on a non-competitive basis with Carley Corporation, Orlando, FL, for the MK 7 Mod 3/Mod 4 Depot technical manual and Illustrated Parts Breakdown. The MK 7 Mod 3/Mod 4 which includes the Advanced Recovery Control (ARC) system is the arresting gear required to safely recover fixed wing aircraft aboard ten US Navy aircraft carriers and at four shore based facilities in support of the US Navys Advanced Arresting Gear (AAG) program. Current technical manuals are integral to ensuring the MK 7 arresting gear system is operational and to resolve technical issues as they arise to support Fleet requirements as well as repair/overhaul individual arresting gear components. Carley Corporation has a detailed first hand knowledge of the Arresting gear and ARC system operation and components which is required for this much needed update/rewrite of the MK 7 Depot manual and IPB. In addition, they have experience utilizing the XML format that is now required of all manuals. The accuracy of the arresting gear manuals including the detailed instructions, hyperlinks and component illustrations are paramount for maintaining the MK 7 system and repairing individual components to keep the Fleet operational and spares available. NAICS Code: 323117. NAWCADLKE intends to procure these items under the authority of 10 USC 2304 (C ) (1), as implemented in FAR 6.302-1. No solicitation package is available for this procurement. This is not a request for competitive proposals. However, responsible sources are encouraged to submit a response to this synopsis in writing that contains information that may be used by the Government to determine whether or not to conduct a competitive procurement. A determination by the Government not to open the requirement based upon the response to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information provided herein is subject to change and in no way binds the Government to solicit for an award of a contract. Point of Contact: Dorri Petterson, dorri.petterson@navy.mil
