Description
Award of this solicitation will result in a Firm-fixed Price contract. The Government is in need of road maintenance services and minor repair that will result in the proper mix of aggregates and fines to maintain aggregates on the road way, the elimination of ruts and potholes, maintenance and functionality of ditch-lines and water diversion structures, and removal of rocks, limbs and other debris from the road prism. The services covered in this contract include the furnishing of all labor, equipment, supervision, transportation, operating supplies, and incidentals necessary to perform in compliance with the terms, specifications, conditions, and provisions of this solicitation. This work will include road grading, scarification, clearing ditches, minor road repair, spot surfacing, watering and compaction, and any other related work necessary to meet the �objectives. Standard industry practice indicates use of an excavator and motor grader with a 12 to 14 foot moldboard blade and scarifier to effectively perform this type of work. The equipment used to perform this work shall meet safety standards and shall be in good mechanical condition. �Successful, quality performance will result in a travel way free of washboards, potholes, or other irregularities. The surface shall be smooth, compact, crowned or sloped to drain, and without segregation of the surfacing materials. Suitable materials have been recovered and incorporated. Unsuitable materials have been removed. Ditches and road surface drainage structures function efficiently. Shoulders are shaped to provide a smooth transition from the road surface and drain efficiently Work will be performed on approximately 7 miles of FSR 281, Smith Creek located on the Bonners Ferry Ranger District of the Idaho Panhandle National Forests. The Work Site is approximately 30 miles North and West of the town of Bonners Ferry. Center of Work Site is located in Township 65N Range 2W Section 33, Boise Meridian. East Start of Project is the end of Boundary County Maintenance of West Side Road. West End of Project is at the junction of FSR 2443 and FSR 281.
