Page 1 of 3 STATEMENT OF WORK Demolition of rotating oven and Installation of (2) Self-Cooking Ovens SCOPE: Provide all labor, supervision, materials, necessary to demolish existing Luck s rotating oven and install (2) Self-Cooking Ovens and appropriate hood vent at the VA Medical Center located in Temple, TX. Turn key project to include, but is not limited to, connection of utility lines, breaker(s), and piping associated with installation of (2) electric self-cooking ovens. PROJECT LOCATION: 1901 Veterans Memorial Drive, Bldg. 163, BA 204, Temple, TX 76504 CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBILITIES: The Contractor shall exercise extreme care to avoid damaging Government property such as buildings, equipment, trees, shrubs, or turf. Any damage to Government property by the Contractor shall be repaired by the Contractor to its original condition at no additional cost to the Government. The contractor shall restore ALL disturbed grounds to existing conditions. The Contractor shall ensure that all materials are new, free from defects, imperfections and asbestos free (NO ASBESTOS CONTAINING MATERIALS SHALL BE USED ON THIS PROJECT). It is Contractor s responsibility to conduct a site visit prior to bid to verify all existing conditions, devices, equipment, dimensions, location, power cable, steam, hot water, cold water, drain route, measurements and areas provided in scope of work. Provide all labor, supervision, materials and equipment necessary install the electric griddle. Contractor shall follow VA Infection Control Guidelines. SCHEDULE OF WORK: The Contractor shall notify the Contracting Officer s Representative (COR) Brittany Zaring, Chief Nutrition Food Service, phone: (254) 743-0360 or (254) 987-2328, prior to start of work. The Contractor shall schedule work through the COR. The Contractor shall coordinate work with COR NLT 1 week before starting work. Contractor will need two site trips, the first for demo and second for a unit installation. Demolition and removal of Luck s rotating oven shall be completed in 4 calendar days of start date. VA will repair/reseal the floor and wall after the demo of the rotating oven. All materials must be on site before starting the job. Installation shall be completed in 10 calendar days of start date. Other contractors may be working in the same area performing other work. The contractor shall execute work in a manner so as not to impede other contract work. HOURS OF WORK: The normal hours of work are 8:00 to 19:00 (7:00) Monday through Friday. Work shall be performed during normal work hours. Work to be performed in other than normal hours shall be approved by the Contracting Officer s Representative. Shut downs must be coordinated around patient care scheduled and approved by COR 14 days in advance. WORKMANSHIP: All work under this contract shall conform to the standards of these specifications. The Contractor at no additional cost to the Government shall correct work not meeting these specifications. Work shall be accomplished by mechanics skilled in the trade. Must have a commercial kitchen equipment business that has operated continuously for the past five (5) years and have accomplished similar work in the installation of hood ventilation and electric self-cooking ovens and for a minimum of three (3) years. DAILY PROGRESS REPORTS: The Contractor shall provide on a daily basis and no later than 10:00 AM, a progress report of work accomplished the previous day to Brittany Zaring, Chief, NFS. WORKING CONDITIONS: The buildings and the surrounding site areas will be occupied, and Government operations will continue on a normal, temporary or restricted basis for the duration of the contract. The Contractor shall take all precautions to ensure that his operations are conducted in a manner so as not to interfere with the normal operation of surrounding facilities. The Contractor shall execute work in a safe manner and shall not subject personnel to unsafe conditions. The Contractor shall provide safety barricades, devices, and equipment to protect personnel and property and repair damage caused by construction operations. Take all precautions to protect the building and its occupants during the construction period SITE VISIT: The Contractor shall visit the site to determine the full extent of the work. Failure to inspect the site will not constitute grounds for a claim after contract award. A site visit will be scheduled through the Brittany Zaring, Chief NFS. DISPOSAL: Contract is responsible for disposal of all materials. Disposal of materials removed under this contract at an approved disposal site in accordance with all local, state, and federal laws, regulations, and guidelines are the Contractor s sole responsibility. The contractor shall adhere to all OSHA requirements concerning removal, transporting, and disposal of the material. CLEAN-UP: The Contractor shall keep the area neat and tidy and free of debris at the end of each workday. TEMPORARY FACILITIES: Temporary electrical power and water may be provided by the Government at no cost to the Contractor from existing lines and sources located at the building site. The characteristics and source locations may be verified by a visit to the site. The Contractor shall provide ample temporary storage shed space for materials requiring shelter from the weather, and security and safety protection. No on site storage will be provided. SAFETY AND FIRE: All fire and safety rules and regulations are applicable; NFPA and SBCCI dated 1999. The Contractor shall comply with EM385-1-1 dated 1987 for minimum safety requirements. PERMITS: The Contractor shall be responsible for obtaining any licenses and permits and complying with any laws, codes, and regulations applicable to the execution of this work as required federally and by the State of Texas. WARRANTEE: The contractor shall warrantee work to be free of defects and workmanship for a period of 1 year from date of acceptance. STATEMENT OF WORK: The Contractor shall perform installation for all materials and components. Work shall include, but is not limited to the following: 1. will provide labor and materials necessary to install 2 self-cooking electric ovens, with each having the following specifications: Capacity to prepare twenty (20) full-size sheet pans or forty (40) steam table pans Include a mobile oven rack with tandem castors Combi-steamer for selective use of steam and hot air, separately, sequentially, or combined Probe for core temperature measurement 2-Year parts and labor warranty 5-Year steam generator warranty Combi-steamer mode °F/(°C): steam: 85 to 265/(30 to 130), hot air: 85 to 575/(30 to 300), combination: 85 to 575/(30 to 300) Individual programming of at least 100 cooking programs with up to 6 steps transferable via USB 5 programmable fan speeds Maintenance-free grease extraction system with no additional grease filter Turbo fan cool down function 304 stainless steel material Digital temperature display Digital timer USB interface LED illuminated display HACCP data output and software update via integral USB port Safety temperature limiter for steam generator and hot-air heating Maximum rack height 5 ¼ ft./1.60 m Integral fan impeller brake 3 automatic cleaning programs Service Diagnostic system (SDS) with automatic service notices displayed Menu-guided user descaling program Hand shower with automatic retracting system External dimensions: 34 ½ W x 33 1/8 D x 70 1/8 H 36kW hot air connection load 36kW steam connection load ¾ water connection 3 GPM water flow rate minimum, 6.59 GPM water flow rate maximum 21-87 psi Electric Requirements: 480V, 3phase, 54 running amps 2. will provide labor and materials necessary to install ventilation hood above the electric self-cooking ovens 3. Contractor to provide all labor, supervision and materials to accomplish the project as described, to include, but is not limited to: Disconnect and demolish rotating oven and remove it from station. Uncrate and move the electric self-cooking ovens into the kitchen. Protect floor with Masonite. Upgrade circuit to support 125 amps. Pull power from existing source to wall located behind oven Install disconnect switch that is easily accessible on wall behind oven Install and upgrade, if required, conduit, wire, breaker and any required new electrical service from the interior service panel to the electric self-cooking oven. Shall meet the NFPA70. Pull from existing water line to connect to electric self-cooking oven and route drain to existing floor drain. Cut and cap existing utilities lines that will not be used Connect and install the electric self-cooking oven to the existing electric, steam, and plumbing modifying the electric, steam, and plumbing if needed in consultation with CTVHCS Engineering Remove all debris including crate containers every day Start up and adjust the electric self-cooking oven to the factory specifications Repair any damage to floors, walls, and ceilings caused by demolition and install. Make ready for final use Except where noted above there will be no modifications to the building s utilities. 4. Contractor to provide training to VA Food Service and Engineering staff. 5. Contractor to provide two copies of operational and technical manuals with equipment
