Description
THIS IS A REQUEST FOR INFORMATION (RFI) ONLY. THERE IS NO SOLICITATION PACKAGE AVAILABLE. The Naval Air Warfare Center, Aircraft Division, Lakehurst, NJ (NAWCADLKE) is requesting information pertaining to a High Temperature Land Based Industrial Oven.� NAWCADLKE is seeking information from industry regarding a High Temperature Land Based Oven. The High Temperature Land Based Oven (HTLB) is an oven used for heat treating/annealing of metal aircraft support equipment and/or aircraft components used for various aircraft maintenance applications. The HTLB is to be installed at the Navy/Marine activity and will not be used aboard ships, hence the �land based� designation.� The prime contractor for this project will be responsible for installation of and operation/maintenance training for the oven.� Specific information requested is as follows: 1) A general description of your unit. 2) A description of your approach and/or drawing and/or schematic to address the following Critical Characteristics:� � CRITICAL CHARACTERISTICS: ������������� Controls: The furnace shall include Watlow model PM programmable ramping Controls.� These controls shall have 4, ten step program memory files. The controls shall feature two large LED displays. One display shall show process temperature and the other shall show the set-point temperature. Also, the oven shall include a model LV digital high limit control with separate thermocouple and contactor. Elements:� Heating elements shall be mounted onto the door, floor and all sidewalls including the back wall. The door-heating element shall be mounted into grooves machined into the brick. The floor and wall heating elements shall be mounted into easily removable ceramic plates. General Construction:� The chamber shall be constructed of 4.5� of the best quality high temperature-insulating firebrick, backed by 2� of 1900�F board insulation. The chamber shall be encased in a heavy welded steel frame and corrosion resistant 18-gauge zinc plated sheet steel.� The door shall open up and away from the furnace opening. A Kaowool� rope seal shall be installed on the door where it meets the chamber. The heavy-duty door hardware shall be counterweighted for easy operation and enable the door to remain securely in either the open or closed position. Temperature Range:� Maximum steady temperature is 2100 �F; maximum intermittent temperature is 2250 �F Temperature Uniformity:� +/-25 �F Utility Requirements:� 480 V, 3ph power Kilowatt Input:� 20 KW Work Chamber Dimensions:� 18� w x 36� d x 18� h Overall Dimensions:� 36� w x 62� d x 70� h Overall Weight:� Approximately 1800 lbs 3) Provide information about your company / organization including: a brief description of your company / organization, small / large business status, 8A status, hub-zone status, veteran owned status, and any past or present Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) awards related to your preservation units. 4) Provide all product datasheets and sample operator�s manual, if possible. 5) Provide any additional information we should consider in this RFI. The Government will not release any information marked with a Proprietary legend, received in response to this RFI, to any firms, agencies, or individuals outside the Government without written permission in accordance with the legend.
