Description

The Naval Sea Systems Command intends to award a Firm Fixed Price Commercial Items contract to Rolls-Royce Corporation, 450 South Meridian Street Indianapolis IN 46225-1103. This contract is for the procurement of up to five (5) Landing Craft, Air Cushion (LCAC) 100 Class Craft Rolls-Royce MT7 Engine Installation Parts Kits. This requirement will be negotiated on a sole-source basis in accordance with the statutory authority 10 U.S.C. 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 6.302-1.� There is only one source that can provide these supplies because the Rolls-Royce MT7 Engine is a Commercial Item available to both military and commercial entities. Rolls-Royce is the sole manufacturer of the MT7 Engine Installation Parts. The proposed contract action is for supplies for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate under FAR Part 12 Commercial Items procedures. � This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.� Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement.
