- Description
- RFI 80GRC020RFI0001 THIS IS NOT A REQUEST FOR PROPOSAL OR RFP. NO PROPOSALS ARE TO BE SUBMITTED IN RESPONSE TO THIS NOTICE. This notice is issued by the NASA/GRC to post a Statement of Work to solicit responses from interested parties. This document is for information and planning purposes and to allow industry the opportunity to verify reasonableness and feasibility of the requirement, as well as promote competition. NASA is asking for industry to provide information on the technologies being developed by turbine engine manufacturers that align with the NASA plans as described above and provide information for each technology area described in Section 2 to assist the NASA Hybrid Thermally Efficient Core (HyTEC) planning effort. NASA believes this information will improve the HyTEC project plans, ensuring that the technical content targeted for development is ideal for NASAs investment and the new small core technology on the next single aisle aircraft achieves maximum fuel burn reduction, durability, and is timely in entry into service. This presolicitation synopsis is not to be construed as a commitment by the Government, nor will the Government pay for the information submitted in response. The Government will use the information to finalize the RFP as necessary. All comments or questions shall be submitted electronically via email to ashlee.b.shaw@nasa.gov and ian.park@nasa.gov, no later than September 4, 2020 at 6:00 ET. When responding reference 80GRC020RFI0001. NASA representatives plan to hold an Industry day to meet with potential offerors. Such discussions would be intended to provide further clarification of the RFI and plans for HyTEC. Industry Day is tentatively planned for September 2, 2020. Additional information will be provided at a later date. It is the offerors responsibility to check Beta.Sam for this information. NASA Clause 1852.215-84, Ombudsman, is applicable. The Center Ombudsman for this acquisition can be found at http://prod.nais.nasa.gov/pub/pub_library/Omb.html . If a solicitation is released, then it and any additional documents will be available on www.beta.sam.gov. It is the offeror's responsibility to monitor the Internet site for the release of the solicitation and amendments (if any). Potential offerors will be responsible for downloading their own copy of the solicitation and amendments, if any.
