- THIS IS A SPECIAL NOTICE PREPARED IN ACCORDANCE WITH FEDERAL ACQUISITION REGULATION (FAR) SUBPART 5.2 �SYNOPSES OF PROPOSED CONTRACT ACTIONS� NAICS: 333613 Estimated Delivery:� December 2020 Response Deadline:� 8/28/2020 The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers (USACE), Portland District (NWP) intends to negotiate/award a sole-source contract with American Vulkan Corporation (Vulkan), to purchase replacement elements, membranes, and intermediate flanges for RATO-R 31 engine couplings on Dredge Essayons. Dredge Essayons home port is in Portland, Oregon. The replacement components are: Two (2) AG3401R034-ABS RATO-R 34 Element Assembly Four (4) 2G34G0002M-ABS RATO-R Membrane Assembly Four (4) 4G3475018M-ABS RATO-R Intermediate Flange REASON FOR SOLE SOURCE ACQUISITION: The statutory authority for this non-competitive acquisition is 10 U.S.C 2304(c)(1) as implemented by FAR 13.106-1(b), Soliciting from a single source. Dredge Essayons uses a proprietary engine to reduction gear and engine to dredge generator carbon fiber shaft arrangement with highly flexible couplings at each end of the shaft.� The manufacturer of the propulsion and dredge coupling and carbon fiber arrangement is Vulkan. They are the only manufacturer that can fabricate replacements The Government intends to advertise a solicitation for this project on or around 08/28/2020.� At this time, a solicitation does not exist.� All responsible sources may submit a capability statement, proposal, or quotation, which shall be considered by the agency. *NO PHONE INQUIRIES, PLEASE.
