- NOTICE OF INTENT TO SOLE SOURCE REQUIREMENT The Department of Veterans Affairs, Ralph H Johnson VAMC, NCO 7 Contracting Activity intends to negotiate a sole source contract under Simplified Acquisition Procedures and the authority of FAR 13.106-1(b)(1)(i) Only one source reasonably available for the following items listed below. The associated NAICS code for this is 339112. The vendor will be DEPUY SYNTHES SALES, 1302 Wrights Lane, West Chester, PA 19380-5986 DESCRIPTION OF REQUIREMENTS: The TFNA System is designed to advance the treatment of trochanteric fractures by providing surgical options that help to preserve bone in insertion area due to reduced critical width, improve anatomical fit1 and increase implant strength.2 It is designed to reduce the risk of cut-out,3,4 distal cortical impingement1 and nail breakage,2 which are common post-operative complications.5,6,7 Several clinical studies have published reporting favorable outcomes in cut-out resistance. Replacement of end of life TFNA Synthes sets. Must be Synthes to work with current Synthes Trauma line of instrument sets. PERIOD OF PERFORMANCE: September 15,2020- November 15, 2020. It is the Government's belief that only the proposed candidate possesses the required capabilities to successfully meet this requirement. It is the Government's intention to solicit and negotiate with only this source. This notice is not a solicitation or a request for competitive quotes request for offers. No solicitation package is available. However, interested parties may identify their interest and capability to respond to this requirement no later than August 25, 2020 at 3:00 p.m. EST. Any response to this notice must show clear and convincing evidence that competition would be advantageous to the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract based on responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government.
