- Description
- The International Boundary Commission, United States and Canada (IBC), is mandated by treaty to maintain an effective boundary line between the two countries. This is accomplished, in part, by keeping a 20-foot wide strip (vista), 10 feet in each country, clear of trees, brush and other obstructions and the boundary monuments in good repair. This is a vista-cutting project located along a rugged, remote segment of the Alaska/British Columbia boundary. This project abuts Tongass National Forest in Alaska and is extremely difficult to access and will require helicopter support. The project follows the Alaska/British Columbia boundary between N 58 11 W 133 12 and N 58 36 W 133 41. The project is broken down into 2 zones beginning 0.38 miles northwest of Boundary Monument 80 and ending 0.45 miles northwest of Boundary Monument 91.
