- Description
- The purpose of this solicitation is to request the services of a Consultant (or consulting firm) to carry out studies to inform the design (not including implementation) of three to four activities, including: Recommendations for an institutional home and organizational structure of a Center of Excellence for secondary school teacher and school leader training Preliminary design of pre-service teacher and school leader training to improve skills that increase numeracy, literacy, critical thinking and soft skills development Preliminary design of in-service teacher and school leader training to improve skills that increase numeracy, literacy, critical thinking and soft skills development Recommendations for improvements to the current secondary school curriculum with a focus on numeracy, literacy and soft skills development. The design developed by the partner should include cost estimates for implementation of each of the above activities as well as a high level work plan for implementation over a five year period of performance. Specifics regarding the detailed scope of work are provided in Section 3: Scope of Services, following a description of the Education Project as it is currently envisioned and relevant background information. Note that this solicitation is not requesting the Contractor to carry out the implementation of the designed activities. The outputs from this work are intended to inform MCC�s decision to invest in the development of secondary teachers and school leaders in Timor-Leste, and serve as a guide for implementation once a Compact Agreement has been signed and adopted. Execution of services will require working closely with MCC, the Compact Development Team in Timor-Leste, the Government of Timor-Leste particularly Ministry of Education Youth and Sports and (Higher Education), and other relevant Timorese counterparts in order to carry out the assignment
