Description
The Government is conducting market research to identify potential sources that possess the repair data, expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to repair the C-5 Mk II Standby Attitude Indicator (SAI) and MK II Air Data Unit (ADU). The Repair Method Code (RMC) / Repair Method Suffix Code (RMSC) for these items is R3R which means acquire directly from the actual manufacturer. This RMC/RMSC code means Repair, for the second or subsequent time, directly from the actual manufacturer. The Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to repair this part. It has been determined to be uneconomical to buy the data or reverse engineer these parts. The C-5 SAI & ADU are proprietary to Meggitt Avionics. The Government did not provision for a competitive procurement package. Contractor shall furnish all material, support equipment, tools, test equipment, and services.� The contractor is responsible for providing, maintaining, and calibrating all support equipment required at their facility or a subcontractor�s facility.� Contractor furnished material or parts used for replacement shall equal or exceed the quality of the original material or parts. C-5 MK II SAI and ADU are part of the C-5 Secondary Flight Display System. Pilots can cross reference the display for flight information and use the instrument in the event that primary flight displays fail or display misleading information. The two items are safety of flight instruments manufactured by Meggitt Avionics. MORE INFORMATION CAN BE FOUND IN THE ATTACHMENT***
