Description

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers, Galveston District Office requires a dredging contract for the Brazos Island Harbor, Texas, Brownsville Ship Channel, Jetty and Entrance Channels, in Cameron County, TX Hopper Dredging. Project Information: The work consists of Schedule No. 1 - Maintenance dredging of Brazos Island Harbor (Brownsville Ship Channel), Jetty and entrance channels.� Estimated quantity is 450,000 cubic yards (CY).� Dredged material will be placed at placement area Nearshore Berm BU site 2A/2B.� Contractor is to commence work within 10 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the Notice to Proceed (NTP).� Complete the entire work ready for use not later than 26 calendar days after the date the Contractor receives the NTP.���� Options 1-4 are for Sea Turtle Trawling and Relocation.� Option 5: Placement of dredged material at Beach Placement area DMPA No.1 and No. 5 in lieu of Nearshore Berm BU site 2A/2B.� If awarded, an additional 14 calendar days will be added to the contract duration. Completion Time:� Schedule No. 1 - 26 calendar days.� If the contractor fails to complete the work within the time specified, the contractor shall pay liquidated damages to the Government in the amount of $3,337.00 for each calendar day of delay until the work is completed or accepted. The contractor will be required to provide Performance and Payment Bonds within (2) calendar days after award.� The contractor shall begin work within (10) calendar days after acknowledgement of the notice to Proceed.� The Solicitation issued will be Firm Fixed Price.� The magnitude of this project is between $5,000,000 and $10,000,000. The solicitation is advertised as �UNRESTRICTED-FULL & OPEN COMPETITION TO BOTH LARGE & SMALL BUSINESSES�. The North American Industrial Classification System (NAICS) Code applicable to this project is 237990 � Dredging:� To be considered small for purposes of Government procurement, a firm must perform at least 40 percent of the volume dredged with its own equipment or equipment owned by another small dredging concern.� The Small Business Size Standard is $30 Million.
