- Description
- The C5AD C2I Lab is performing a Secure Communications Network technical assessment of new virtual networking and routing technologies to determine if they enhance the ability of warfighters to support C5ISR operations. This multi-classification domain Wireless Local Area Network (WLAN) Commercial Services for Classified (CSfC) virtual services and support kit is also known as the C5AD SMART Gateway (Kit E). In order to achieve this, the C2I lab relies on the WLAN CSfC virtual services and support kit to host emerging software based routing and cybersecurity technologies. All hardware, software, and applications must conform to the security requirements specified in the National Security Agencys CSfC Capability Packages (CP). The C5AD SMART Gateway is a tailored WLAN CSfC virtual services and support kit that meets all NSA security requirements and enables the security solution for multiple lab-based networks in the Command and Control Integration Lab and Special Operations Forces Lab (SOF Lab) (Enclaves 2-1 and 2-3). The kit virtualizes the services, applications, network routing and switching, security monitoring, cyber network defense (CDN), and other requirements specified in the CSfC CP. Since purchasing the kit, the tailored security solution was updated and revised by the National Security Agency, so the kit requires implementation and integration of the new hardware and software security solution products and configuration so that it complies with the current CP. In addition, C5AD requires onsite technical support during BQ 20.2 for the configuration and operation of the SMART Gateway and the wireless networks implemented on the gateway. The current C5AD SMART Gateway design is out-of-date and requires updating and alignment with NSAs most recent Capability Package requirements. C5AD must maintain compliance with the updates and technical advances to the NSAs CSfC security solution as published in their Capability Packages, as well as meet the additional requirements for 4G/LTE cellular capability to be able to provide continued assessment support. This is to support Secure Tactical Multicast Integrated Networking Assessment (STaMINA) and Joint All Domain Communication Networks PACE Assessment (JADCNPA).
