- Description
- Please refer to the attached solicitation documents for the following project description: The Jacksonville District is procuring construction services for CEPP South Contract 1, located in western Miami-Dade County, between Water Conservation Area (WCA) 3A (Everglades Wildlife Management Area) and WCA 3B (Francis S. Taylor Wildlife Management Area), west of C-111, and north of the Tamiami Trail (US-41). The Scope of Work for this project includes the construction of the following four (4) project features: (A) Install three (3) required L 67 A levee structures; S-631, S-632, and S-633. Each structure location will have two (2) 6� x 6� gated box culverts equipped with dewatering apparatus features. Each box culvert will have a vertical lift gate that can be operated remotely. Power for the lift gates will be provide by an on-site propane generator housed in a concrete building; (B) Removal of the existing spoil islands directly to the northwest of the proposed S-631 and S-632 structure locations on the opposite site of the L-67A canal; (C) Excavate a 3000� gap within the L-67 C levee to convey water from WCA 3A to WCA 3B; and (D) Backfill the existing east-west agricultural ditch between the L 67 A and L 67 C levees. Backfill material will be generated on site by using the east-west agricultural ditch spoil pile located on the north side of the ditch. In addition, material from excavating the 3000� gap and spoil islands are other sources of backfill material. Any excess excavated material will be disposed of by filling in a portion of the L-67A Extension canal.�
