- Solicitation Documents: The solicitation will be issued as a Commercial Item/Request for Quote (RFQ) requiring both price and technical proposals responding to evaluation criteria described in the solicitation. Documents will only be available electronically to download from this website on or about July 24, 2020. Description: The intent for this contract is to secure services for Heritage survey areas including units for timber harvesting, thinning and fuels reduction on the Klamath National Forest. The contractor shall conduct a heritage resource inventory within �Survey Needs� polygons for identified Project Area(s). The Contractor shall record all new prehistoric and historical resources located within the �Survey Needs� polygons within the project area. The contractor shall visit previously recorded sites and update existing site records. � The �Bear Country Project� survey is to be conducted in compliance with Forest Service policy, which requires a heritage resource inventory prior to any undertaking that may affect heritage resources (see FOREST SERVICE MANUAL 2361) pursuant to Section 106 of the National Historic Preservation Act of 1966 as amended (16 U.S.C. 470) and procedures of the Advisory Council of Historic Preservation (36 CFR 800). The survey shall provide site-specific data sufficient for the Forest Service to locate and identify cultural resources in the project area(s). The Contractor shall furnish all necessary personnel, facilities, equipment, materials, and transportation to perform the work described herein. The contractor�s qualified archaeologist with at least five years crew lead experience, identified in the proposal, shall personally supervise all phases of the contract, including field investigations. Location: The Project Area is located on the west side of the Klamath National Forest (KNF) in Siskiyou County, CA. See the Vicinity Maps and Project Maps attached as Exhibits. Surveys shall not be conducted on private land.
