Description
Walter Reed National Military Medical Center (WRNMMC)has a requirement to procure specialized pulmonary function testing equipment. The government intends to procure this equipment on a sole source basis from CareFusion211, Inc. because preliminary market research indicates that only CareFusin211, Inc. can provide the capability required by the medical center. Specifically, the test results provided by this equipment are more accurate than provided by other devises and are less intrusive and stressful for patients. Also, these units provide an open glass cabin (with an open vision to all four sides) which minimizes patient claustrophobia. Further, the electromagnetic door closure does not require any gas to seal the cabin, a stable handgrip enhances patient mobility and a low entry step enhances patient safety. Additionally, the flexible telescoping arm which extends 25"" provides the capability to test patients outside the cabin who are in wheelchairs and other patients who cannot enter the cabin for a variety of reasons. Lastly, the innovative magnetically-controlled shutter system exceeds ATS standards and the electronically controlled gas demand valve allows testing patients who have very low volumes. This notice of intent is not a request for a competitive proposal. All capability statements received within fifteen (15) calendar days after the date of publication of this notice will be reviewed by the Government and considered. Comments must be received no later than (NLT) at 3 pm EST by the response date of this notice. However, the Government's determination not to compete this proposed contract action based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Should your firm desire to submit a capability statement, it should demonstrate the Offeror's experience and expertise to provide the services identified above within the required time frame without substantial duplication of cost to the Government. The statement shall include business size, ability to self-perform work, layers of subcontracting, and any other information indicating a legitimate ability to meet these specific requirements. The statement should not exceed five (5) pages in length, and written inquiries may be addressed to fozia.a.abdulah.ctr@mail.mil. Oral communications are not acceptable in response to this notice. A copy of the Justification and Approval will be posted no later than fourteen (14) days after award. Primary Point of Contact: Fozia Abdulahi, fozia.a.abdulahi.ctr@mail.mil
