Description
This is a Request for Information (RFI). This is NOT a solicitation for proposals, proposal abstracts, or quotations. The purpose of this RFI is to obtain knowledge and information for project planning purposes. Background:� The National Institutes of Health (NIH), National Institute on Aging (NIA) ����recently created the Center for Alzheimer�s and Related Dementias (CARD) to initiate, stimulate accelerate, and support research in Alzheimer�s disease and related neurodegenerative disorders, leading to the development of improved treatments and cures.� NIA is preparing to open a new CARD facility in Fiscal Year 2021 and will need to acquire furniture for this new space The facility will be a pre-engineered structure, and comprise approximately 24,000 square feet. As a result, NIA is in the market research stage for outfitting this facility with furniture. Purpose and Objectives: NIA intends to create a light and open aesthetic in the new facility, and the furniture should reflect this. There is minimal need for filing and paper storage, so desks should be open and uncluttered by drawers. Flexibility is a key component of the space, so furniture should be easily movable. Project requirements: See attached Statement of Work and Draft Floorplan. Anticipated delivery date: August 2021 Information sought. NIA is requesting the information outlined below. The information may be submitted in the form of a capability statement or �white paper,� and should include drawings. Responses may be for the entire space or focus on individual areas. Respondents� professional opinion and experience on useful design features to promote collaboration while maintaining focus in an open work space; Respondents� opinions about the difficulty and/or feasibility of the potential requirement or proposed acquisition, possible solutions and approaches that may currently exist in the marketplace, and information regarding innovative ideas or concepts; General information regarding the respondent�s estimate or rough order of magnitude of the effort or time that may be required for completion of the work. The respondent must also provide their� DUNS number, organization name, address, point of contact, and size and type of business (e.g., 8(a), HubZone, etc., pursuant to the applicable NAICS code and any other information that may be helpful in developing or finalizing the acquisition requirements. One (1) copy of the response is required and must be in Microsoft Word or Adobe PDF format using 11-point or 12-point font, 8-1/2� x 11� paper size, with 1� top, bottom, left and right margins, and with single or double spacing. The information submitted must be in an outline format that addresses each of the elements of the project requirement and in the information sought paragraphs stated herein.� A cover page and an executive summary may be included but is not required. The response is limited to ten (10) page limit.� The 10-page limit does not include the cover page, executive summary, or references, if requested. The response must include the respondents� technical and administrative points of contact, including names, titles, addresses, telephone and fax numbers, and e-mail addresses. All responses to this notice must be submitted electronically to the Contract Specialist and Contracting Officer.� Facsimile responses are NOT accepted. The response must be submitted to Karen Mahon, Contracting Officer at e-mail address karen.mahon@nih.gov. The response must be received on or before August 7, 2020, 2:00 pm, Eastern Time. �Disclaimer and Important Notes:� This notice does not obligate the Government to award a contract or otherwise pay for the information provided in response. The Government reserves the right to use information provided by respondents for any purpose deemed necessary and legally appropriate. Any organization responding to this notice should ensure that its response is complete and sufficiently detailed. Information provided will be used to assess tradeoffs and alternatives available for the potential requirement and may lead to the development of a solicitation. Respondents are advised that the Government is under no obligation to acknowledge receipt of the information received or provide feedback to respondents with respect to any information submitted. Any solicitation resulting from the analysis of information obtained will be announced to the public in Federal Business Opportunities in accordance with the FAR Part 5. However, responses to this notice will not be considered adequate responses to a solicitation. Confidentiality: No proprietary, classified, confidential, or sensitive information should be included in your response. The Government reserves the right to use any non-proprietary technical information in any resultant solicitation(s).�
