Description

Pre-solicitation Notice: Thales Satellite devices: This proposed contract action is for Thales Satellite devices �for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under the authority of FAR 6.302-1. This is a sole source requirement that is proprietary to No other supplies or services will satisfy the government's needs. The COMSAT is the only manufacturer of the Thales Satellite devices with the minimum requirement of providing global terrestrial communications coverage, anywhere in the world that�s unaffected by weather or landscape. This is a requirement of the USDA-APHIS, VS at Riverdale, MD. The minimum requirement are as follow: A satellite communication device that provides global terrestrial communications coverage, anywhere in the world that�s unaffected by weather or landscape. Must operate using Iridium Certus broadband service that covers over a network of 66 satellites that cover 100% of the globe. Provide essential voice, text and web communications for fixed sites and mobile users: IP67 External Antenna MIL-STD 810G Modem/Antenna Control Unit �This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However all proposals received within 5 days after date of publication of this synopsis will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete this proposed contract action is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether it will become necessary to conduct a competitive procurement.
