Description
The Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Office of the Chief Information Officer (OCIO) urgently requires a commercial data sharing platform and services to deploy and configure the HHS CARES Data Platform, a modern, scalable, cloud-based, data infrastructure serving the needs of HHS. The HHS CARES Data Platform will enable HHS and its federal partners to coordinate, monitor, and track the CARES Act Provider Relief Payments and Grants distributed to fight the COVID-19 pandemic and protect the publics health. The bipartisan CARES Act legislation provides relief to American families, workers, and the healthcare providers on the frontline of the CARES Act through Provider Relief Payments and Grants. $100 billion is being distributed by the Administration to healthcare providers, including hospitals battling this disease. Provider Relief Fund payments are being disbursed via both General and Targeted distributions. To be eligible for the General Distribution, a provider must have billed Medicare fee-for-service in 2019 and provide or provided after January 31, 2020 diagnoses, testing, or care for individuals with possible or actual cases of CARES Act Provider Relief Payments and Grants. Data collection and analysis is of the utmost importance in responding to CARES Act Provider Relief Payments and Grants and coordinating efforts to collect that data will accelerate HHSs work to protect the public and lessen the spread and impact of this virus. With the increasing number of cases in the United States and across the globe, it is critical for the United States Government to have access to all available resources to support efforts in the response.
