- The solicitation and any resultant contract will be a stewardship project as authorized in accordance with Section 8205 of Public Law 113-79, the Agricultural Act of 2014 as amended under Section 204 & 207 of the Consolidated Appropriations Act (Omnibus Bill 2018). This project is being advertised for full and open competition. This acquisition has been tailored to fit the Governments need for trading goods for services. The Musick Project is located on the High Sierra Ranger District of the Sierra National Forest encompassing the area within the Big Creek area in the north down to the Jose Basin area in the south. The project area of approximately 1,750 acers includes nine mandatory contract items and five optional contract items. The stewardship contract will solicit offers on the following service items (items may be different in posted solicitation): Mandatory Work Items: Item 1 � Removal of Sawlogs from Public Land on approximately 1750 acres (Non-Biddable). Item 2 � Felling and Skidding to Landing of Sawlogs on Tractor Ground. Item 3 � Felling and Skidding to Landing of Sawlogs on Steep Slopes. Item 4 � Road Maintenance on an estimated 96.84 miles of system roads. Item 5 � Road Reconstruction on an estimated 53.59 miles of system roads. Item 6 � Felling Hazard Trees on an estimated 5.25 miles of system roads. Item 7 � Skidding and Decking Hazard Trees Item 8 � Treat Fuelbreaks Item 9 � Fell and Pile Dead Trees in Units Optional Work Items: Item 10 � Felling Hazard Trees on an estimated 56.50 miles of system roads. Item 11 � Skidding and Decking Hazard Trees. Item 12 � Treat Fuelbreaks. Item 13 � Biomass Thin and Stack at Landing Item 14 � Remove Biomass from Forest The project includes removal of approximately 32,403 tons of Sawtimber along with an estimated 4,953 tons of Biomass. Any resultant contract will be a Construction contract with requirements for timber removal. The estimated price range for construction (Item 5) is:� Between $250,000 and $500,000. Project Location - The Exchequer IRSC Stewardship Contract Area is located in Township 8 South, Range 25 East, Sections 20, 21, 28, 29, and 31-34; Township 8 South, Range 24 East, Section 26 and 34-36; Township 9 South, Range 25 East, Sections 4-6; Township 9 South, Range 24 East, Sections 1-3, 9-23 and 27-35; Township 9 South, Range 23 East, Sections 12, 13, 23, 24, 26 and 34-36; Township 10 South, Range 23 East, Sections 1, 2 and 3; Township 10 South, Range 24 East, Sections 4-9 and 17.. The solicitation package will be uploaded approximately July 31st, 2020. The date of award is expected to be within 60 days after the actual response date, which will be stated in the package and is subject to change with amendments to the solicitation. The contractors are encouraged to visit the site prior to the response date. A prebid meeting on site is scheduled for 08/05/2020.
