Description

On�June 8, 2020,�a Request for Proposals (RFP) was issued by the National Park Service (NPS) to solicit proposals from the private sector to lease�Avon Fishing Pier at Cape Hatteras National Seashore�(Seashore). � Avon Fishing Pier�(Pier)�is located on Seashore beach property adjacent to�41001 NC-12, Avon, NC 27915.�� The pier was constructed and first operated under an authorization issued by the Service in 1964.� While the village of Avon has grown up around the Pier in the decades since it was constructed, the Pier�s current� services and amenities are similar to those envisioned and provided in 1964 � an ocean fishing pier with associated merchandising, such as fishing tackle and convenience items, on offer in the pier house.��� The Pier consists of a pier house, which is approximately 2,213 square feet in size and the wooden fishing pier, which is approximately 666 feet long.� Seashore property in this area is limited to the ocean beach.� The lease premises do not have or include an access road or parking area.� Applicants to the Request for Proposals must provide their plans for obtaining and providing visitor access to the premises, as well as plans to provide any support facilities they determine to be necessary for pier operations.��� The National Park Service seeks a lessee for Avon Fishing Pier in order to:�� Enable continued use of the Lease Premises for pier fishing and associated services; and� Provide regular maintenance and upkeep of the Lease Premises, including both the pier and pier�house.�� The Request for Proposals, open June 8 � August 7, 2020, is available at�https://nps.gov/caha/getinvolved/leasing.htm.�� If you choose to retrieve a copy from the website, please notify�Ms. Merrill�at�Sarah_Blizzard_Merrill@nps.gov, so you can be placed on the mailing list to receive notifications or other correspondence regarding this RFP.� Proposals must�be received by�the National Park Service no later than�4:00 p.m.�EST on�August 7,�2020.��Proposals may be submitted electronically to caha_commercial_services@nps.gov or by mail to:�� �Superintendent Cape Hatteras National Seashore� 1401 National Park Dr.� Manteo, NC 27954� Attention: Avon Fishing Pier Lease Proposals (MAILROOM DO NOT OPEN)� AMENDMENT #1 The Service is extending the Request for� receipt of proposals for Avon Pier for 45 extra days from August 7, 2020 to September� 21, 2020.� All interested parties must submit all required documents� by the mentioned date.
