Description
Hydro-processing and Distillation Opportunity Request for Information Description: Pacific Northwest National Laboratory (PNNL) is currently developing a method for hydro-processing. Upon completion of the process development phase (approximately January 2021), there will be need for a facility that can produce scaled-up quantities of the hydrotreated and fractionated products. PNNL will provide the feed and potentially the appropriate catalyst. The processing ranges listed below are approximate and will be finalized in the resultant solicitation package, which is expected to be issued towards the end of Government Fiscal Year 2020. The purpose of this RFI is to find entities with facilities and resources experienced and capable of hydro-processing one batch of liquid feed (~200 to 300-gallons) with about 10 20 wt% oxygen (dry basis) and less than 5 wt% H2O using sulfided catalysts in a continuous flow system. The expected operating temperatures and pressures are between 385 420 C and 1200 2000 psig of H2 for the hydro-processing. The feed will consist of 10-30% pyrolytic lignin and 70-90% used cooking oil and the expected product will be a mixture of hydrocarbons, some water (as oxygen-removal mechanism) and gases. Approximate LHSV range is 0.065 0.075/h. Following the hydro-processing, the hydrocarbon product is to be distilled to maximize the cut that falls into the jet boiling point range (approximately 150-250C). PNNL anticipates the fully funded scale-up work scope will have a duration of about 9 months starting around January of 2021. Please provide your companys business and/or technical contact information if your organization is willing and capable to perform this work scope, and interested in receiving the solicitation package.
