Description
693JJ620R000005 Synopsis The Federal Railroad Administration (FRA) intends to award a contract to conduct research� �prototype as well as the effects on human performance of a head-up display human interface for use in locomotives.� This research is to develop a limited set of symbology for an experimental head-up display or HUD to demonstrate HUD utility in locomotive or train operations.��� If a HUD configuration (hardware/software) suitable for locomotive cabs can be achieved, then the heart of the HUD rests with what information would need to be displayed to the crew and how that information would be represented. This procurement will be processed using FAR Part 35 procedures. Solicitation 693JJ620R000005 is anticipated to be released on or about 15 July 2020 and the anticipated award date is 11 August 2020. The solicitation will be made available via email to interested and capable parties. The closing date for receipt of proposals will be established in the solicitation. All responsible sources may submit a proposal which shall be considered by the agency. �Offerors must be registered in System for Award Management (SAM) (https://www.sam.gov/portal/public/SAM/) to be eligible for award.� Instructions for registration are available at the website.� Interested parties with the capability of meeting the proposed requirements are requested to provide an email to the FRA point of contact, Veronica Dorsey at Veronica.Dorsey@dot.gov no later than 1:00 p.m. ET, Tuesday, July 28, 2020, expressing interest and outlining their capabilities and qualifications to perform the effort.
