- Description
- The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, intends to award a sole source firm-fixed price contractfortwo (2)peptide Analysis Modules of BYONIC software including support for BYONIC modules to Protein Metrics, INC., 20863 Stevens Creek Blvd., Suite 450, Cupertino, CA 95014. The statutory authority for this sole source acquisition is U.S.C. 2304 (c) (1) in accordance with FAR Part 6.302-1 only one responsible source and no other supplies or services will satisfy the agency requirements. The NAICS code for this procurement is 541511 Custom Computer Programming Services, size standard $30,000,000.00. This ""compatibility /continuity"" acquisition is required because BYONIC from Protein Metrics, Inc., is a software package designed specifically for peptide and protein identification by mass spectrometry. The software facilitates a much wider range of search possibilities than search engines like SEQUEST and Mascot. We have previously acquired three perpetual licenses of the BYONIC software which allows us to process the raw data files from our advanced mass spectrometry instrumentation. In order to analyze the data files processed by the BYONIC software, the Peptide Analysis module, BYOS, is required. The Peptide Analysis modules will allow us to define essentially unlimited number of variable peptide modifications types such as oxidations, deamidations, phosphorylations and glycosylation among others. Glycopeptide search is at the center of our Influenza research program and the BYONIC Peptide Analysis modules are essential to allow us to do glycopeptide searches on our proteins of interest, and to identify not only the glycan types but also the glycosylation sites, which provide important information for the study of viral proteins and for vaccines effectiveness. The Peptide Analysis modules are part of the Trademark BYONIC software package from Protein Metrics, Inc. and themodules will only work with our previously own perpetual BYONIC licenses, and Protein metrics, Inc. They arethe only company that can provide support and updates to the software. No solicitation will be posted to FedBizOpps. This notice of intent is not a request for quote. A determination by the government not to compete the proposed purchase order based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Contracting Officer. Interested parties who believe they possess the capability to satisfy this requirement should submit a capability statement demonstrating their ability to meet the requirement. Information received will be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. All responses should be emailed to Mr. Philip Robinson at KKQ4@CDC.GOV using solicitation number 75D301-20-Q-72199 in the subject line no later than 9:00 AM Eastern Standard Time, July 20, 2020.
