- Description
- POURED CONCRETE ADA RAMP DESIGN AND INSTALLATION (CONSTRUCTION) SOLICITATION REFERENCE: 140G0320Q0139 The Department of Interior, US Geological Survey - Western Fisheries Research Center (WFRC) in Seattle, WA has a requirement for the design and installation of a poured concrete ADA ramp. The WFRC's Wet Laboratory building emergency exiting patterns lead to an exterior concrete landing with stairs to the West. These stairs do not provide egress to individuals requiring a wheelchair or other aids. Exiting through the West exterior corridor door places an individual using a wheelchair in a difficult situation without the ability to negotiate the stairs to a public way or safe distance in case of an emergency. A new accessible ramp from the West exit door is required per the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) guidelines. This project will be entitled ""Poured Concrete ADA Ramp"" throughout the acquisition process. To complete this requirement, the USGS intends to award a firm-fixed price contract in accordance with the procedures of Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) Parts 13 (Simplified Acquisition Procedures) and 36 (Construction and Architect-Engineer Contracts). The period of performance is expected to be not longer than 45 days from issuance of the notice to proceed. The estimated magnitude of this project is between $25,000 and $100,000. The Construction Wage Requirements Statute (prevailing wage, formerly Davis-Bacon Act) will apply. A Payment Protection will be required. Prospective contractors must be registered in an appropriate field (concrete) in the State of Washington at the time quotations are due to be considered for this project. All subcontractors, if applicable, must be appropriately registered as well. All questions must be sent directly to capplegate@usgs.gov by 08/07/2020. Contractor is responsible for reading the contents of this document and attachments. Quotes will be accepted via e-mail to capplegate@usgs.gov. Hard copies, facsimile transmissions, or documentation submitted through any on-line portal will not be accepted. There will be a site visit on 07/22/2020, 10 AM PT. Attendance is not required but strongly encouraged. Please RSVP to the Contracting Officer at capplegate@usgs.gov. The solicitation number is issued as a Request for Quotation (RFQ) 140G0320Q0155. Place of Performance: Seattle, WA 98115 Product/service code: Z1HB, Maintenance of Government-Owned Government-Operated R&D Facilities NAICS code: 238110; Poured Concrete Foundation and Structure Contractors; Size Standard $16.5M This acquisition is reserved exclusively for participation by small business concerns.
