Description
This RFI will be used to identify potential sources in the industry that may be interested in acquisition opportunities with the Government. The Government is conducting market research via this RFI/Source Sought to identify potential sources that possess the repair data, expertise, capabilities, and experience to meet qualification requirements to repair the AN/ALM-288. These parts have been screened as Acquisition Method Suffix Code (AMSC) of 3R. AMC 3 means they have been acquired, for the second or subsequent time, directly from the actual manufacturer, BAE Systems Information and Electronics CAGE code 19397. AMSC R means the Government does not own the data or the rights to the data needed to purchase this part from additional sources, and it has been determined to be uneconomical to buy the data or rights to the data. The Government does not own or have access to repair data or drawings for these items. Additionally, the Government does not have access or rights to any Technical Orders (TOs), parts prints, specifications, or reference material for the AN/ALM-288 to include in this RFI. The Air Force (AF) is not in possession of a similar tester or any TOs, parts prints, specifications, or reference material of a similar tester. There are no AN/ALM-288 testers available for potential suppliers to evaluate. The Government has determined these items are non-commercial items. Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate in this survey. However, this Sources Sought/RFI will, in part, assist the AF in determining set-asidepotential. Contractors/Institutions responding to this market research are placed onnotice that participation in this survey may not ensure participation in futuresolicitations or contract awards. The Government will not reimburse participants forany expenses associated with their participation in this survey. In accordance with Federal Acquisition Regulation (FAR) 52.215-3: a) The Government does not intend to award a contract on the basis of this solicitation or to otherwise pay for the information solicited except as an allowable cost under other contracts as provided in subsection 31.205-18, Bid and proposal costs, of the FAR. b) Although ""proposal"" and ""offeror"" are used in this Request for Information, your response will be treated as information only. It shall not be used as a proposal. c) This solicitation is issued for the purpose of market research. INSTRUCTIONS: 1. The document(s) below contain a description of the AN/ALM-288 requirement and a Contractor Capability Survey to allow you to provide your company's capability to the requirements defined in the Performance Work Statement dated 09 August 2017. 2. If, after reviewing this document, you desire to participate in the market research, you should provide documentation that supports your company's capability in meeting these requirements. Failure to provide documentation may result in the Government being unable to adequately assess your capabilities. If you lack sufficient experience in a particular area, please provide details explaining how you would overcome the lack of experience/capabilities in order to perform that portion of the requirement (i.e., teaming, subcontracting, etc.) 3. Both large and small businesses are encouraged to participate this RFI. Joint ventures or teaming arrangements are encouraged. 4. Questions relative to this RFI should be addressed to Sandra Harvey at Sandra.Harvey.2@us.af.mil and Tiffany Holmes at Tiffany.Holmes.2@us.af.mil. 5.
