- The purpose of this amendment A0001 is to post questions and answers. There is no change to the solicitation closing time and date. What size and species of tree does the VA want to replace the oak trees that will be removed? The same species as being removed and as described in the Scope of Work. Species: Live Oak (Quercus virginiana); Trunk diameter (caliper size): 1.75 inches to 3.5 inches Will the contractor be responsible for replacing sod/earthwork clean up after removal of oak trees? The contractor should protect the turf and will be responsible for turf damage as described in the Scope of Work. Will the new, live oak trees be planted in the same spot that the original trees were removed from? As stated in the Scope of Work. Placement: Outside of removed FboNotice system. The contractor shall plan to install the tree offset from removal location of previous tree to prevent shock. Schematic to be provided by the contractor as a submittal outlining depth and tree placement.
