Description
SOURCES SOUGHT: This is a SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE. The U.S. Geological Survey is conducting a MARKET SURVEY to determine the interest and capability of any firm eligible to compete under NAICS code 334516 Analytical Laboratory Instrument Manufacturing Small Business Size Standard 1000 employees. THIS IS NOT A SOLICITATION. ALL COST ASSOCIATED WITH PROVIDING INFORMATION AS REQUESTED BY THIS SOURCES SOUGHT NOTICE SHALL BE THE RESPONSIBILITY OF THE CONTRACTOR. Submission is voluntary. The USGS conducts research on regional geology and the National Cooperative Geologic Mapping Program has been tasked with the strategic goal of mapping the nation. This involves producing a new geologic framework to include a digital geologic map database and 3D geologic model of a transect and ancillary data sets from the Rio Grande rift and continuing west toward the Basin and Range. TQTQ 1: The contractor shall receive rock and sediment samples, record the samples received and any specific processing requests in spreadsheet format (e.g. Excel file) within two business days of receiving samples. This information shall be provided to the USGS contact listed on the sample submission form for verification. TQTQ 2: The contractor shall process all samples received down to individual mineral separates based on size, density, and magntic properties within five weeks of receipt. All mineral separate splits should be clearly labeled with the sample ID and split properties. TQTQ 3: The contractor shall provide a report in spreadsheet format (e.g. Excel file) detailing the separation process used for each sample submitted along with a list of the mineral separate splits for each sample within five weeks of receipt. TQTQ 4: The contractor shall return all mineral separate splits and all leftover sample materials for each sample submitted within five weeks of receipt. Interested firms shall submit (1) NAME, ADDRESS, and PHONE NUMBER OF THE FIRM (including DUNS NUMBER); (2) a CAPABILITY STATEMENT including (a) RECENT (within the last three fiscal years) RELEVANT (similar projects to this requirement) performance history (identify the name of the owner and their point(s) of contact with telephone and fax numbers, e-mail addresses; and (b) in what capacity (e.g., prime, subcontractor etc.) they performed the work; and (3) their SIZE STATUS.
