Amendment 0005 is provided: a. There are no attachments due to issues posting to betaSAM. All information for this Amendment is found below: b. The following are questions and answers: 1. What if any equipment is owned by the facility?� Controllers, chemical feed pumps etc.??� What is the approx. age, make and model of any equipment?� Yes the equipment is approximately 15 years old.� LMI chemical pumps models� P031-393SI and A151-391TI LMI Liquitron DC4500 conductivity controller 2. How many gallons of water per year are used by the individual cooling towers? Main Plant Cooling Towers 750 ton each CT 1 = 2,250,000 gallons CT 2 = 1,500,000 gallons CLC Cooling Towers 100 ton each ( No meter so providing an estimate) CLC CT 1 =� 500,000 gallons CLC CT 2 =� 500,000 gallons 3. What is the volume and current chemical treatment (inhibitors used) for each condenser loop? ? 4. Does the facility have a requirement or preference between liquid or solid chemical programs? Liquid 5. What are the minimum service requirements for the contract? Bi-Weekly 6. Is legionella or bacterial testing required for the contract? Yes 7. Is a cleaning and or disinfection required for the contract? No 8. We would like to know if this is a new requirement or if there is a legacy contractor/provider currently performing these services or a provider that has provided these services in the past? These questions must be addressed via a FOIA request. Please see: https://www.va.gov/foia/ 9. If there is a legacy provider, can you provide the name of the Contractor and the Contract Number? Will a copy of the sing in sheet form the walk through be posted? No 11. Please confirm that the (2) 750 ton chillers have (2) separate cooling towers, ie. (2) separate chemical feed and control systems exist for the (2) separate cooling towers in this building. Yes all chillers have there own cooling towers and each tower has its own chemical feed system. 12. SOW section 5.0 Paragraph A states �Corrosion rates to be determined by Corrater LPR Monitoring System�.� Does the VA currently own a �Corrater LPR Monitoring System� system is the successful bidder to provide one.� No the VA does not own a system and yes it would be the responsibility of the successful bidder. 13. SOW section 5.0 Paragraph A states �Corrosion rates to be determined by Corrater LPR Monitoring System�.� Will the �Corrater LPR Monitoring System� be required on all 3 open loop systems and all three closed loop systems? Just the open loop. 14. SOW section 5.0 Paragraph B states �Culture methods to be completed monthly�.� Please confirm that only culture methods as outlined in VHA Directive 1061 Appendix C are acceptable and per VHA Directive 1061 Appendix C rapid testing methods, such as polymerase chain reaction (PCR) and direct fluorescent antibody (DFA), are not permitted. That is correct. 15. SOW section 5.0 Paragraph B states �Onsite production of electrolytic bromine from non-hazardous precursors is preferred.� A typical acceptable system is the ProChemTech ElectroBrom, Model EB or MB units�.� During the walk through it was observed that a liquid stabilized bromine biocide is currently being applied. Please confirm that liquid bromine biocides, such as what is currently being utilized, is not acceptable.� Liquid bromine biocides are not acceptable. Due to system issues with BetaSAM there will be no SF30 that accompanies this amendment, amendment 0002 or 0003. The purpose of this amendment is to: Extend the due date of quotes to 7/7/2020 @10am Eastern
