Solicitation�N6227120Q1116�is issued as a request for quotation (RFQ). This is a COMBINED SYNOPSIS/SOLICITATION for a Sole Source requirement to Phillips Corporation / CAGE 3MPQ0 / for maintenance and repair of the lubrication system on Naval Postgraduate School�s Haas VF-6 5 Axis CNC machine. This request is prepared in accordance with the information in FAR Part 13, Simplified Acquisition Procedures, and as supplemented with additional information included in this notice. This announcement constitutes the only solicitation; quotes are being requested and a written solicitation will not be issued. The award will be evaluated on a technically-acceptable-lowest-price basis. The NAICS associated with this purchase is 811310, size standard 7.5 mil. Method of payment will be Wide Area Work Flow (WAWF). Sole Source Requirement: The proposed contract action is for commercial supplies or services for which the Government intends to solicit and negotiate with only one source under FAR Part 6.303-2.� Interested persons may identify their interest and capability to respond to the requirement or submit proposals. This notice of intent is not a request for competitive proposals. However, all bids, proposals, or quotations received by the closing response date will be considered by the Government. A determination by the Government not to compete with this proposed contract based upon responses to this notice is solely within the discretion of the Government. Information received will normally be considered solely for the purpose of determining whether to conduct a competitive procurement. Background/Introduction: The Naval Postgraduate School (NPS) Machine Shop currently utilizes a precision Haas VF-6 5 Axis CNC Milling Machine to create complex parts for research.� The Lubrication system for the linear (X, Y, and Z) axis of movement of precision components of this machine is intermittently failing (grease clogging in the lines at precision metering valves and linear bearings) and due for replacement/upgrade.� This lubrication system is utilized for the automation of the precision moving components of the machine used to cut these complex parts (i.e. turbomachinery blisks) Request for Quote, Statement of Work and Sole Source Justification attached.
